Unbelievable to say the least. The best of locations near San Marco square. Huge rooms. Amazing furniture and decorations. The best of service. Staff highly professional. Cant recommend anything better in Venice although we visited quite a few splendid hotels on prior trips to Venice....More
We stayed here in October 2011 - we found this hotel on the web are we glad we did fantastic location close to everything. We caught the water taxi from the airport and it drops you off right at the door and this is where...More
I stayed here in Feb 2011 with my girlfriend for 3 nights. Is situated about a 3/4 minute walk from San Marco Square. It is tucked away a little but we got a bus from the airport then a water bus to San Marco Square,...More
Amazing location, friendliest staff and so nice to have an apartment for our family of 4. Very comfortable unit on top floor. Lovely view, so quiet except for bell tower and gondolas and water taxis occasionally passing by. Better to see New Year's Eve fireworks...More
Great apartment style room. We arrived about 7.30ish and took a water taxi that wouldn't go directly to the hotel like previous reviews. Would probably suggest doing the 6 euro Water bus rather than the 60 euro water taxi. I think it wouldnt take much...More

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

The Vaporetto (water bus) run from just outside the train station to both the Railto and San Marco, costs €7.50/person each way and runs every 15 minutes or so. From the station, you can catch either the white (No.1) or Red (No.2) lines. There is a ticket booth near the pier and the vendors all speak perfect English.
The Rialto stop is slightly closer, and less busy - it's an easy, mostly flat 100-150 yard walk from there to the hotel following the directions from the hotel website.
The Vaporetto is easy and a great Venician experience!

"We had a mid-level floor, so had noise from above. I expect the top floor would be the quietest in that case."
