I got married in the church near this hotel last weekend and Marco couldn't do enough for us. The Hotel itself is lovely, very clean and in a great location, still, quiet and had a great night sleep, apart from pre-wedding jitters! I'm from Venice and can only praise this place and its owner, highly recommended. Also, visit the Corner...

Great little place to stay. Somewhat off the beaten path, but that made for a great night's sleep. Marco was very helpful and payment was easy via the internet. The restaurant at the end of the alleyway near the small bridge is expensive, but outside of that a lot of good shops and restaurants in close proximity. Will stay there...

The Ca San Vio is not a hotel it is a Bed and Breakfast. As such all you will get is a room and a limited breakfast brought to you on a tray. The owners are only there in the mornings to deliver breakfast and make up the rooms although they are perfectly friendly and helpful if you have a...

Stayed with them in a single room during the 2013 carnival. When I was there we experienced some serious high water (some of the highest on record, I understand) and my room got a little flooded -- however the owners went out of the way to warn me in advance, give me some tips, and then made sure the room...

You let yourself in to this place via buzzing at the door to Marco, the key is on the desk, we didn't meet him until the next day, he and his wife were very pleasant and helpful. I would suggest if you can to get a private boat to here , we did on the way back to Venice airport...

Very clean and quiet hotel. Yes you check yourself in, but it is simple and straightforward. Bathroom was tight but very clean and efficient. Breakfast was served in the room and very good. Excellent location near everything but just far enough away to be relaxing. Thanks Marco!

We checked in also by buzzing at the door and finding our key on the desk. We didnt have a bath and shower is barely big enough for my partner to outstretch up onto his elbows. We too are on the bottom floor, and the room is very dark and dusty. I had allergies from the amount of dust and...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
