We're not surprised of all of the positive reviews you can read for Cà della Scimmia since our experience was just impeccable. We were looking for a location in Venice where the whole of our family could stay in Venice ahead of our wedding and we were extremely lucky we discovered Cà della Scimmia. We first stayed in the Loft ourselves and afterwards booked 5 of the apartments offered for our relatives to stay. The location is central and a perfect base to explore all corners of Venice. The apartments have recently been refurbished with an exquisite taste and offer all the amenities you would require. Special mention to Andrea, who provided an excellent service throughout, from the booking process to the support in organising transportation for our relatives when in Venice. In a few words, we simply cannot recommend this enough and Cà della Scimmia will surely be top of our list for our next trip to Venice.

Response from mauro voltolina, Proprietario at Ca' della Scimmia

Simply Exciting!!! Dear Pdotta, do not think that comments like yours slip away like stream water !!!! After so many years of life in tourism and hospitality we are still not satisfied with gratifications like yours. We do it with a still genuine passion and for a temperamental inclination, which for luck we have discovered day after day, year after year. And You renew it, You enrich it with enthusiasm, which enable us to respond with deep serenity and genuine kindness to the next customer ... but with the hope of seeing him again in Venice soon. See You all soon at the monkey !! Our warmest regards, The "Cà della Scimmia" Monkeys

Wow! We were impressed from the start. Andrea met us at the water taxi and took care of our every need and want. The apartment was spacious, clean, and well equipped. We loved the Mercado Rialto location. We've stayed in many Venice apartments over the years, and this will be our fist choice in the future. The Ca' della Scimmia owners and staff provide outstanding, personalized service.

We just finished a three-night stay and can't say enough nice things. The rooms are nicely furnished and spotless. Very convenient to have a (small) kitchen and a clothes washer. Air conditioning worked very well. The location is terrific -- close to everything but on a very quiet side street that is steps away from the hustle and bustle. The staff could not be more helpful or friendly. We would definitely return here if we traveled back to Venice.

We've stayed in the Ca Della Scimmia apartments several times in the past and always rated them very highly. They're now under new ownership and I'm delighted to say that it's still a fantastic place to stay. The apartments have benefited from a recent refurbishment and felt fresh and clean. We received a friendly and warm welcome upon arrival, and picked up plenty of tips of new things we might see and restaurants to try. Looking forward to our next visit

My husband and I stayed at Ca’ della Scimmia for a long weekend and I was delighted with our choice! Our apartment was on the 4th floor and had a lovely view of rooftops in the Rialto area and even St. Mark’s belltower. The apartment was spacious and it was great to be able to spread out in the separate living room and kitchen. While we didn’t have time to actually cook, we did make use of the very cool Italian coffee machine and fridge. The bedroom was beautiful with a super comfortable bed and linens. The shower was the best I’ve found in recent travels – roomy and with good pressure. Lots of great amenities like slippers and bathrobes. We received a warm welcome when checking in from Valentina, which got our stay off to a great start. I had a few practical questions about the area, and she was very helpful. The location near the Rialto Bridge and market made a perfect base for exploring Venice. Arrival and departure with luggage was a breeze, as there are no steps or bridges to cross from the vaporetto stop (Rialto mercato). Then once you arrive at Ca’ della Scimmia there is an elevator. An unexpected bonus was that we could leave our bags there on the day we left until the late afternoon. I’d highly recommend these boutique apartments – looking forward to staying here again the next time I’m in Venice.

I can’t tell you how blown away we were when we first walked into the apartment. Angela, our host even offered to meet us at the ferry station. The room was was clean, furnished and spacious. We had a living room, dining room and sitting area. The location was absolutely fantastic and very close to the Rialto Bridge. Angela recommended close by restaurants which were pretty good. Thanks Angela!

Location, location, location. Right next to the Rialto Mercato vaporetto stop and fruit and fish markets. As I write this we have just returned to the apartment having stepped outside to be met with a thunderstorm. It’s in such a convenient location, close to the Rialto Bridge, with shops, restaurants etc etc literally outside the door. So easy to pop back to dump stuff or change clothes or have a reviving coffee. This is our second time staying here and this time we are on the 4th floor (there is a lift) with a very good view out of the dining area windows of the roofs and the terrace on the top of the Tadeschi store (the view from this terrace which is about 5 mins away is worth it). We have a comfortable king size bed with en-suite shower room (this did get a bit pongy after rain but you are in Venice after all), wardrobes and tv with a separate kitchen/dining area. There is another small bedroom also with an en-suite shower room. No lounge. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher frig and washing machine as well as a four ring hob, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and kettle as well as cooking utensils and crockery. A couple of dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid are provided. (There is an extra charge for cleaning at the end of your stay so that seems to mean maid service is limited. We only saw her once in 5 days.) Mostly for breakfast we buy beautiful fresh bread from the shop close by and there is a excellent supermarket close to the Rialto vaporetto stop for local cheeses and cold meats. There is also an excellent take away or eat in pizza place 3minutes away ( try their Pinot Grigio, it’s good, and the girl serving very friendly). Other Restaurants and bars are on the doorstep as well as the fruit and fish market right outside. Excellent choice of accommodation to feel as though you are in the heart of Venice and experiencing local life.

If you are going to stay in Venice, then you want to be at the centre of things. Therefore, being close to the Rialto Bridge and having access to Vaporetto No. 1 from Rialto Mercato allows you to access the central spine of Venice. We have stayed here before and fully appreciate its very central position. You can come and go back to the apartment during the day and bring back food if you want to avoid eating out all the time. The shops nearby are probably less expensive and less crowded than around San Marco so another plus. The beds are comfortable, en suite bathrooms are compact but fine and you have a small kitchen with hob, toaster, fridge and kettle, etc. If you want to indulge yourself, buy a 1-7 day ACTV ticket and just use the Vaporrettos like the local bus. Buying a single ticket at €7.50 each, even though valid for 75 minutes is an expensive option and would likely restrict your movements. You can walk almost anywhere but make sure you have a detailed map as many streets are dead ends because of the canals.

We found this through a vacation rental website and couldn't have been more pleased. The staff was friendly and met us at the Rialto Mercado water bus stop. It's just a very short walk from there to the apartment, which thankfully has an elevator. We stayed in 7a (i think it was a?) on the top floor. It had two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which were a welcome surprise as we thought we were only getting a one bedroom one bathroom for the three people in my party. We were able to do laundry, although there is no dryer (which is typical for Venice). It has amenities for people that are staying longer and want to use their stove and dishwasher. LOTS of closet space. It's very close to the Rialto bridge and many places to pop in for a sandwich or gelato. The only con we found: The showers are very small.

This apartment location was excellent and right on the door step to the Venice markets. It is only a 10 minute walk to the other side of Venice and right by the water taxis. The room itself was modern and came with a washing machine which allowed us to do some laundry. I highly reccomend this secure room and would use it again if I come to Venice in the future. The lady that met us to provide us with the secure key also provided reccomendations as to resturaunts which was also helpful. Excellent accomodation, location and service. Highly recommended.
