This is a nice and quiet B&B. The directions on the website are a bit misleading, so maybe email them for more accurate directions. There are 3 flights of stairs , to the B&B and this could pose a problem for some. The room was neat and the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was yummy. Close to everything and...

Directions are vague but we know the area, however you can call and they will talk you in. Cannaregio is the best area to stay in, away from the hoards. Breakfast is good but hot food not kept hot and tables tiny. Staff are lovely. The rooms are clean and the shower great. Recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay in Ca Riccio. The rooms are clean, the breakfasts great and the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast room is fabulous. We would love to stay there again - the location is terrific and Venice is so amazing. Thankyou to the management, who emailed us prior to our visit, with detailed directions to the hotel....

The B & B is up 3 flights of stairs so be ready. The room was small but bed was comfortable and bathroom had nice shower. The location is excellent, quiet and a short walk from everything. The breakfast had hot food as well as pastries, fruit, good coffee served in a lovely little room. The price was reasonable and...

This B&B is a 5 minute walk from everywhere - the location is great! The rooms & bathroom, though a little dated, where clean & sufficient. The breakfast was great & breakfast room was very cute. The staff were always around to answer questions & were very helpful. A great find if you are looking for a good quality/price B&B!

I have stayed at Ca’Riccio every year for over 5 years. Why do I keep coming back? LOCATION Ca’Riccio is located in a quiet part of the city, so one can get the sense for how the local population live. Yet, it is close to San Marco, close to Rialto, and very close to Fondamenta Nova. I enjoy finding short...

We spent a nice couple of days at this wonderful, cozy and welcoming hotel as we were visiting our friend's wedding in Venice. The location is perfect, the staff is very hospitable and the rooms are superb. If we were ever to go back, we'd definitely go back there!

If you're looking for a cheap, clean hotel in an excellent location for the water bus then look no further. Rooms and breakfast are awesome! Staff are all friendly and bend over backwards to help - you even get given a city map of Venice with the hotel's location marked off. Rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels provided every...

Stayed for two nights during a brief trip to Venice. Room was great with comfortable bed, mini fridge, table/chairs and a couch. Very good size. Bathroom was clean also. They give you directions on how to get to the B&B and it includes pictures to make it easy. We used these directions and were at the B&B half an hour...

My husband and I stayed I room number 1 for three nights. The room was not large by American standards but was more than large enough to accommodate a brief trip. It was elegantly decorated, with exposed wood beams in the bathroom. everything was exceptionally clean, the mattress was comfortably firm, and the area stayed very quiet at night so...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
