Personally, I loved the location of the hotel. It was close when arriving off the bus from the airport and it was nice to not have to carry our bags far. The hotel was clean, breakfast was good and all the staff were very nice....More
We stayed at the hotel Dalla Mora for two nights before the start of our cruise from Venice. Check in at the hotel was for 2pm but we arrived at 11 and our room was made available immediately. The staff was very friendly and helpful...More
We booked this place in advance via booking.com based on affordability and location and we were not disappointed. The hotel is quite central (10 minutes from the station) and handy for exploring the city. Supermarkets not far for water, supplies etc. The staff are very...More
This is a budget hotel that is conveniently located both for the railway station and the main sights. The room was quite large and overlooked a canal-side terrace. I got some insect bites in the night. The bathroom was small but functional, and everything seemed...More
Very quaint and tucked away in a quiet area friendly staff and value for money. Will definitely go back there if I visit Venice again. Highly recommended. In easy walking distance from the Grand Canal but far enough to be quiet

Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture
universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
