The worst place we've eaten at in the city by far. It was the most expensive we've had and the most mediocre. Don't be lured in by their €12 special, they charge an extra €7 just for sitting you. Doing this when the food is fantastic is no problem, but when it's not and the manager is rude it's just...

Like the title of my review states. Perfect for two nights with a loved one. Our room was small, but why are you spending time in your room in venice? The bed was comfortable and about a 5 minute walk from Piazza san marco. The only problem is the restaurants in this area might as well be the olive gardens...

We were greeted very warmly by the female receptionist and during our 2 night stay she continued to be very helpful. The air conditioning didn't work the first night but when my husband sought her assistance she had it working immediately. However, the Italian waitress at breakfast was very grumpy and the breakfast buffet very limited. The room was clean...

A very clean, peaceful friendly hotel. The location is central to all major tourist sites ie Rialto Bridge, St Mark's Square etc, yet is quiet and actually quiet calming. The breakfast each morning was delicious with a great variety of items on offer served by very friendly, efficient staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Venice....to be recommended.

Hi We got a standard room 305 instead of a superior Room the first night. After our complains could we change in 103 a superior Room. The room is too expensive for what you get. See the picture. The breakfast room is too small for so many guest. We needed to wait every morning.

We work hard every day to make our guests happy and we appreciate the feedback, also if negative, but we don't accept to be threatened by nobody. In crowded Venice this hotel is an oasis of calm. The interiors are in a traditional Venetian style. Our room was high-ceilinged, spacious, cool and comfortable. It was also quiet except for being occasionally serenaded by operatic gondoliers traversing the canal which runs immediately behind the hotel. For Venice it was reasonably priced and is exceptionally well located between the...

Stayed in a superior room, it was clean and spacious, breakfast is good and the location is great! The only down side was the isolation between rooms, but I guess most buildings in Venice are like this.. The staff are helpful and overall it was a good experience! Highly recomend if u can go for a superior room its defenitely...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
