I love my hotel. It's so cute and its close to the dock of guglie. Very easy to get to from the airport via water bus. The bathroom is nice and spacious. I love looking out my window to see the canals. Taking pictures at this area is good, bc it's not busy body like the other touristy area. The...

Big, clean, authentically Venetian room. Would highly recommend the Junior Suite as the balcony is gorgeous with the most fantastic view. Much cheaper night rate with much bigger rooms compared to hotels near San Marco. The bed was hard with thin pillows. Requested an extra pillow which was provided straight away by the friendly staff. Breakfast was basic but enjoyable....

Good price with spacious room located just in water front. It's classical nice room. It gave me a feeling of living in old times. A little far from San Marco plaza, but it was ok because you want to walk around Venice anyway. There are lots of restaurants and shops in 10 mins walking distance. I liked it.

Hard to believe this is a3 star hotel. Staff are fabulous, really helpful and smiling, rooms pleasant, spacious, clean and comfortable. Bottle of wine & 2 glasses awaiting our arrival, with the essential corkscrew too. Perfectly located out of the worst of the tourist area, lovely Osteria on the corner, 7 minute walk from the train station. We're absolutely delighted...

Lovely hotel. Great location out of tourist madness, close to train station. Wonderful bar next door. Good WiFi, nice breakfast, bag storage, friendly and helpful staff. Cheap beer in mini bar. Elevator. Air con was noisy and useless but with windows open nice breeze was all we needed.

We had the junior suite in the hotel and it was a nice spacious room with a four poster bed and a great balcony view. The hotel is situated fairly close to the train station / taxi drop off point which is useful as it's not easy pulling cases around Venice. There is also the Allaguna ferry stop outside the...

Stayed here for two nights in August. It is ideally located to the north "coast" of Venice about 2-3 minutes walk from a water taxi stop (Guglie - on opposite side of canal but only short walk over nearby bridge). It is also only about 10 minute walk from train station so no lugging suitcases for miles (unlike some poor...

Pallazo Cendon is a great hotel in the less touristic part of Venice. Staff is very helpful in finding your way through Venice. Breakfast could be a little bit better, but overall certainly sufficient. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
