Situated right on the Grand Canal and just far enough away from the busiest spots.
A very good hotel with generally good service and with grand (although slightly tired) accommodation. However the real highlights are the magnificent building and the art within.

We stayed here on a family vacation. Large and well maintained rooms. Excellent cleaning service. Ate in the restaurant which has excellent but quite expensive food. Staff was attentive and helpful although probably more helpful to very high end clientele. No gym or health club...More
Nothing says "this is going to be a great stay" quite like arriving to your hotel via private water taxi! The hotel is gorgeous--the lobby area is magnificent that I could barely pay attention to the lady who checked us in.

I have just spent 3 days at this wonderful hotel and I can just say great things about it. This is smaller than the other luxury palazzo hotels in Venice, and maintains the real charm and magic of ancient Venetian palazzos. It offers an outstanding...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
