This was my third time at the Palazzo Stern and it starts to feel like home. My previous reviews don't really need to be updated as all the qualities of this hotel I already mentioned are still valid. This is one of the great thing about the Palazzo Stern, they are striving and succeeding at keeping their amazing ratio of...

Buongiorno! Thank you for your very nice review. I'm happy that you enjoyed again your stay with us!!! And I'm happy that you still find our service as good as at the beginning. We now have another big plus: we have a private boat for our guests!!! It's free of charge for all the guests who book directly with us....

Decadent and wonderful in every aspect! The view was great and the windows filter out the noise if you want them closed, but let in the life of Venice once you open them! The suite is worth the extra coin if there with your spouse!!

Wow, what a great week... I had agonised for ages about what hotel to choose for our week in Venice - the plan was to get engaged (which I'm happy to say we did) and I was thrilled with my choice. We were given an incredible room with a view of the Grand Canal, beautiful fabric wallpaper with amazing furnishings...

We stayed at the hotel over easter and the hotel was great, this smaller hotel is quiet and more than happy to help out with sorting out anything. The staff are all very professional and the small touches make a huge difference. Stylish frontage, terrace by the canal, water bus stop nearby, a private wharf and has some really out...

We were very happy with the location of the hotel as it was within easy walking distance of St Marks square and the Rialto bridge and if you preferred not to walk the stop for the water bus is just outside the hotel. The hotel is on the quieter side of the Grand canal, for us that was a positive...

Firstly if you book here, the only way to arrive is by private water taxi - straight to the door step! The hotel is perfectly positioned, 5 minutes from Accademia and 15 minutes to San Marco, with a vaparetto stop right outside. It is picture perfect, looks beautiful and the service we received from all the staff was perfect. They...

Buongiorno! Thank you for your very kind review. I'm happy you enjoyed your stay with us!!! Sure the taxi boat is the easiest way to reach us (and also the most beautifull), but it's not the only one! We are just beside Ca' Rezzonico's vaporetto stop which is served also by alilaguna. Also, starting from now, we have a private...

We stayed at the Palazzo Stern Hotel for our Wedding anniversary trip to Venice. It was not cheap, but well worth every penny. The Pallazzo is full of original features, combined with modern comforts. We stayed in room 304, a Junior suite overlooking the Grand Canal. The room was luxuriously furnished, beds were super comfortable, bathroom was gold but tastefully...

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were very welcoming, and extremely helpful with their local information/recommendations. The location was perfect for us, the walk to San Marco was only 20-30 minutes and the waterbus stopping next to the hotel was great for tired legs! We found the rooms quiet at night, but just a short walk...

Even if we did have a room with no real windows (Room 505 has a couple of electrically operated Velux window in the roof) we really enjoyed our stay at the Palazzo Stern. Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
