This place gets some things right. Location is central between Rialto bridge and San Marco square, next door to the Scala Bovolo. Rooms are spacious and clean. Host is very friendly and helpful. Price is relatively inexpensive for Venice. If you plan on being out...More
Not easy to get to but worth it! Very warm, friendly hosts! Quiet setting. No breakfast. Large clean room. Wifi in lobby and hallway but not in room. Would definitely stay here again. It felt like Venice should!!
Our group of three stayed for one night at this hotel in July. The hotel is a beautiful old building close to the heart of Venice with restaurants and bars very close by but is hidden away to ensure quietness at night when trying to...More
Nice, spacious room. The beds were however a little short and small. We luckily had an extra bed so we could use that. Good remote controlled air-conditioning. The wifi in the room didn't work. Good location to see the city, near many attractions.
First stop of our Europe trip. Wonderful reception, near major attractions in the heart of Venice. Cozy, warm helpful and friendly owners. Somewhat difficult to find, but makes for a more secluded stay.

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

Arrived back here on Sunday. I was wrong about the bridges between the Rialto stop for Alilaguna and Alloggi alla Scala. Not a single one. The walk from the air terminal to the boats is about 15 mins and is circuitous. I suspect there may be a way from the departure level but am not sure. By the way, its HOT here at the moment.
