Enjoy your stay in Cagliari!
The location is perfect. No problems with cleanliness. The minus is the non-existant breakfast and how it was organised. You had to ask anything you wanted to eat or use (i. e. cutlery) from a person at the stand. So if you want to visit Cagliari, book the hotel, but without breakfast. In conclusion - I'd rather suggest staying there.
Average hotel with outdated style. Room was small. At the same price you can find better hotel nearby. No major complains but you can do better to enjoy your stay. Even on the main road there is no noise and you can sleep quiet.
We have spent one night in this hotel with two kids. The hotel is very well located downtown Cagliari, next to the main attractions and restaurants. We got a quadruple room which was ok for one night. The room was clean. Breakfast was served in the hotel restaurant was ok. Standard quality.
This hotel dates back to about 1866, but has been well modernized. It is well situated in the oldest part of the town and has numerous restaurants close by. Our room was large and had a good dressing table/desk with ample power sockets.Like so many European hotels there was more than ample hanging space but almost no shelf space. There is only one chair. There is no kettle or tea/coffee, but a large fridge, a hair dryer and a good safe. Bath room is spacious. The shower is over the bath, but between a non-slip surface on the bath and good grab handles it is quite easy access for the elderly.
We were joining a cruise in Cagliari and stayed at the Due Colonne for 3 nights prior to our cruise. We upgraded to a deluxe room with sitting area and tea/coffee making, the room was spacious with big shower room, very clean. The breakfast was a cold continental, with a good choice of savoury & sweet, the best thing was the coffee which was freshly made to order. Our only negatives was the A/C was off as it was late October, as the weather was still hot to us, we would have liked A/C, due to the hotel's location, it is too noisy to open the windows, that said we would stay at the Due Colonne again and recommend it for pre/post cruise.
Excellent location in the center of Cagliari, unfortunately the interior could be better curated as the rooms show signs of no renovation and poor maintenance. Breakfast is good and the presence of elevator is appreciated
We stayed here 1 night so that we could visit Cagliari. That was enough. The hotel is in the centre, convenient for bars and restaurants. You have to park the car at the big parking near the railway station, as there are no parking facilities near the hotel. Rooms are comfortable, staff very helpful. Breakfast room for such a big hotel was far too small, and by the time we came for breakfast everything was finished. So you are better off to have breakfast outside, in one of the many restaurants.
We stayed here after a week in Sardegna and early flight to Pisa. Great location for walking the adorable streets and close to outdoor eateries and the square. Lovely town. Hotel is conveniently located, and older but well maintained. Great staff. No parking and Taxi will need to drop you in the front and you enter from the side. Lots of cameras so very secure hotel. Bed was 'meh' which is why I can't go 4 starts.
I stayed for 1 night in Due Colonne. I chose it because of its location. On a small street in Down Town, the 2nd from the Marina and via Roma. Cagliari Old Town is easily accessible on foot from there. The hotel is located on several floors, from the entrance on the ground floor, one has to take the elevator or stairs up. The reception and the breakfast restaurant is on the 1st floor. The room was OK, not small, not big, dark. There are rooms with balconies (well, a balcony where one can put one feet :)), mine was without that. The window faced a busy street, but despite that I did not hear any noise. The bed was big and comfortable. A bit cold in November at night though. I found a blanket in the wardrobe but it was very thin. I would appreciate something warmer. The breakfast was good: yogurt, fruit, cheese, salami, musli, some cakes, juice and coffee. I asked for scrambled eggs, but there were just boiled eggs available. The staff is nice. Wifi worked very well in the room. There was a minibar with water, juice, some snacks. There are lots of restaurants in the vicinity, they work at breakfast, lunch and dinner time, in between they are closed, but still there are lots of cafeterias, etc. The beach is about 5 km from Cagliari and the hotel. But for exploring the city of Cagliari the hotel location is perfect.…
The staff were very friendly & helpful. There was a very reasonable choice at breakfast including eggs, cheese & meat. The hotel is situated just off Via Roma & Largo Carlo Felice, surrounded by shops, cafes & restaurants & close to the seafront/Port with Poetto beach a short drive away. I stayed for several nights on arrival in Sardinia & the night before leaving but was not disturbed by noise in the rooms I had. Both rooms I had were of a very reasonable size, one on the fourth floor & one on the third. The beds are quite firm. On the fourth floor I could not get internet & had to go to the first floor to use it. I could get internet on the third floor. The hotel could perhaps have been a little cleaner in places such as the skirting board but if I had to choose between a spotlessly clean hotel or friendly, helpful staff, I would always choose the latter. It was a comfortable & enjoyable stay at the Hotel Due Colonne.…
