Palazzo Doglio has garnered praise for its elegantly spacious rooms, modern comforts, and a prime location that puts the city's attractions within easy reach. While the hotel's atmosphere is often described as luxurious and welcoming, some guests have noted that noise can sometimes detract from the tranquility.
The service at Palazzo Doglio is lauded for its friendliness and professionalism, although it's not without its occasional hiccups. Amenities are a highlight, yet extra charges, particularly for spa services, have raised some eyebrows concerning value.

Detailed Reviews
An immaculately presented hotel/room thoroughly serviced twice a day. Our DeLuxe room was very well appointed with a huge bathroom, sofa and excellent TV offering. Bed wide, comfortable with high quality bedding - you'll sleep soundly. Quiet surroundings with no noise transfer issues. Blackout blinds on windows ensure no early morning surprises.
We only made use of the inclusive breakfast but that was more than sufficient. Varied choice, well prepared and enjoyed in the most pleasant of surroundings.
Staff throughout the hotel were approachable, helpful and professional to the Nth degree.
Location of the hotel is fine, around 20 mins to any of the major points you'll be visiting in Cagliari. Bus routes to anywhere you'll visit all within a couple of minutes walk.
Only downside for me is I dislike hotels that advertise they have a pool only to charge an excessive rate to use it (here you have to pay to use the whole spa (€50/day) which you likely be disinclined to pay.) There was a 30% discount on offer for the spa admittance but we didn't witness anybody using it during our stay.
Thoroughly recommended for your stay in Cagliari.

Whilst there were many positives about this hotel, there are also areas that require improvement.
Let’s start with the positives.
1. The lobby, bar & restaurant are aesthetically pleasing and create a warm, cosy feeling about the place.
2. The courtyard with its immense options of restaurants and shops is a definite bonus and there is always a buzz about the place - especially in the evenings.
3. The reception staff are a huge attribute: polite, friendly and very helpful.
4. The location of the hotel was also quite good, with most attractions a walking distance.
Now the cons
1. The service at breakfast & food available. I was shocked at the quality of food: it was one of the worst breakfasts I’ve ever had at a hotel. The hot option was minimal with only eggs, bacon & mushrooms. There were only 2 cuts of charcuterie meats & the cheese on display was sweaty. Once the bread in the tray had finished, there was no replenishment. As for the continental, it was all pastries & cakes. the croissants were heated under red lights which red them out completely. There was a good range of fruit but not fresh, some of the strawberries were off.
Overall, the service was poor with the restaurant staff confusing customer’s coffee orders.
2. The cleanliness of the rooms. There was a lot of dust & although the tiled floors were hoovered, they weren’t mopped so our socks were dirty.
3. Considering this is graded as a 5 star hotel, it’s the first hotel I’ve seen in over 60 we’ve stayed at that provides no tea or coffee for its standard non- suite rooms. If you did want tea or coffee you had to call reception each time which feels a little fussy.
I would have rated this review as 3 stars but it is the promptness and way the staff dealt with the problems that pushed it to a 4.

Simply the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in- the way the rooms and corridors are furnished (tiled floors, no carpets, rugs or wall furnishings) creates an echo chamber for noise. The paper-thin internal walls don’t help. So when the house keeping arrive (7am on a Sunday morning) you are awoken daily to abrupt slamming, banging, dragging of furniture (pretty sure none of this is necessary and could be avoided) and vacuum noise as they bash their way through each room quite literally, on the first day I complained and I thought there was actual construction happening in the room above me, it was actually just the house keeping - WOW!
There was a major dinner show and concert that took place during our stay, we were not made aware it would happen nor were we invited (it would have been nice to have been told when we checked in and offered a table) the rehearsals began early in the afternoon with repetitive music blasting at full volume completing taking over the hotel, we attempted to get a table when we finally realised what was happening and were told there was nothing, not even inside. This loud show went on until around 11pm followed by a noisy clear up until the early hours. Very disruptive to our stay considering we had to leave early the next morning. The courtyard is somewhat like an amphitheater.
The concierge was helpful but seriously lacking experience, we asked to go to a great pasta restaurant and she sent us to what I can only describe as the ‘McDonalds of Pasta’ we found our own options the days after that and they were localised and great. The front desk are unhelpful, when the concierge was off we asked them to book a table, they told us it would be done and we could come back to check, we came back a couple hours later and they had not booked it and had to call while we were there. We then asked them to arrange a rental car, we heard nothing back.
On the plus side the hotel is very clean, drinks were good and the pizza is excellent downstairs. Location is good you can walk to the central district within 10 mins.
All in all I would not return to this hotel because it is not relaxing and is a long way from what I consider a leading hotel of the world.

We stayed 6 nights at Palazzo Dogglio, the hotel staff is very friendly and responds to customer requests when they can.
The superior room is correct and has all the necessary amenities.
The geographical location of the hotel is excellent and well located in the center of Cagliari.
Unfortunately, independent restaurants, including the hotel's, are located in the interior courtyard and this creates noise pollution (when the waiters stay until 2 a.m. or pull iron tables into the courtyard).
Please also note that we reserved a parking space for 20 euros per day. A few times when we returned from a restaurant in the city there was no place to park (because people going to the rest can access the parking lot which leaves more room for hotel residents)
In addition, be careful, access to the spa requires a fee; you must book in advance in order to have a slot (50 euros/person).

Wonderful hotel from the point of view of location, decor, cleanliness.
The strong point is cmq the service and friendliness of the staff. The 5-star hotels are often "cold" but here despite everything being up to a 5-star you can breathe a familiar air. Thank you.

We stayed here for the first two nights of our honeymoon as a jumping off point. Our prestige room had a very comfortable bed which was perfect to sleep off the jet lag. The balcony doors are sound proof and you don’t hear any of the action in the courtyard. This location was convenient as every restaurant we went to was only a 10-20 minute walk. We were impressed with the array of breakfast options that were included as well. The staff are really friendly and helped us with recommendations, taxis, etc. They even called us on day two to ask how our stay was. Sweet touch.

We loved our stay at the Palazzo Doglio.
The hotel is very tastefully decorated with beautiful bathrooms with full sized baths and large showers.
The bed was the most comfortable of our stay in Italy and we loved the smell of the soap and body wash supplied.
Breakfast was ample with a choice for everyone. Many savoury and sweet options available. Staff were attentive, pleasant and helpful.
We loved the ability to choose from a number of dining venues and the free Thursday night entertainment.
We were impressed and would definitely consider returning to Cagliari which we found much better than we expected. We also know where we would stay if in Cagliari again.

From such a location you expect the best. We book and show up punctually and kindly are welcomed and made to sit in the reserved seat in the American bar. I immediately notice the poor cleanliness of the armchair where I was going to sit I look at the sofa where my friend was going to sit and I notice even more how dirty it was (hair and other) I just can not sit and on my own initiative I change tables and even here I notice the little accuracy in cleaning. We still order and remain satisfied with what we have taken premise that we expected prices to be above average. Another sore note we had to solicit the bill a couple of times and in the end we went straight into the house. Conclusions: nothing to say about what we drank and ate but from a 5 star you expect the top in everything especially in cleaning. Too bad.

On our last two trips to Sardinia, we have arrived at the airport of Cagliari and in addition to visiting the city and its surroundings, we have chosen a hotel, headquarters, called Palazzo Doglio, city hotel with a patio, with nice fountain that houses the restaurant of the hotel "Osteria del Forte" and its bar next to 3 other restaurants and some boutiques and that serves both for hotel events and meetings of the locals in their departures.
This hotel with spacious rooms, good bathroom and balcony to the courtyard is a place to enjoy. This time we have been able to discover the area of "Poetto", with its "Beach Clubs", just below the "Chair of the Devil". Here the water is clear. With the help of Alice, "concierge" who booked us the hammocks on the beach, she advised us and booked a nice half-day tour, in a flirty outboard, with which we skirted the inaccessible coves or very difficult to access from land, around "Devil's Chair", being able to swim in its turquoise waters. He also booked us restaurants and informed us of what we needed, etc. As well as the staff at reception, at all times willing to collaborate with the same kindness, to have a taxi or any other requirement. As well as the staff at breakfast, attending with maximum speed, perhaps because it is not high season, summer, we have had a personalized attention that makes you feel good.

Dear Kehamburg22,
Thank you for reaching out.
Kindly note that our hotel does not have a swimming pool. In our SPA, we have a Wellness Program with which guests can enjoy using our state of the art sauna, Turkish bath and relaxation area with herbal teas and fresh fruit. The program also includes access to an exclusive heated wellness pool with water jets dedicated to stimulate various parts of the body, from the soles of the feet to the abdominal and dorsal muscles.
While our new Technogym fitness center is complimentary for hotel guests, the Wellness Program requires an extra charge and needs to be booked in advanced to ensure we comply with highest safety standards.
Happy to help with any other questions you may have!
