The Miramare Hotel is an exclusive hotel. It is located at the second floor of the beautiful old Palazzo Devoto (one of the grandest period palaces of the end of 1800), in the Via Roma, in the very centre of the town, in front of the harbour, 200m away from the main station, from where trains and buses reach the whole Sardinia. The small Miramare Hotel is a charme structure, with 18 rooms and 4 suites, each fitted with TV, air conditioning, minibar, satellite, private bathroom, telephone set. The Miramare Hotel has a charming view over Cagliari's Harbour and at the seaside. Wonderful sunrises, invaluable sunsets: a unique experience, in the heart of La Marina district, for a stay, which will be arranged until the smallest detail. Only for travellers, not for tourists.

Stayed here in September 2022. During my time in Cagliari I got injured and had to explore the delights of Cagliari A&E for many hours (not very different from A&E in England, although the language barrier made things more difficult). Called the hotel from A&E at 1am and they helped my with a taxi, got me into the room, fixed some food for me, and got me out in a taxi the next morning. Particular thanks to Gianluca, for really excellent customer service.

Left my binoculars behind and they nicked it!! Tiny room all cluttered. Tiny breakfast area in tiny sitting room. Minimal breakfast. Had to climb 5 flights of stairs upon arrival as lift was padlocked. I guess we could have called them to come down to meet us!! Definitely not recommend

Definitely not recommend. Tiny cluttered room with no space to put carry on suitcase , climbed 5 flights of stairs to hotel as lift needs a key and when left binoculars behind in room they said it wasnt there. Such a shame they cannot be trusted

My husband and I had reservation at this hotel through A&K for April 2020. Because of the pandemic obviously the hotel and any travel to Italy is closed. Yet The hotel refused to refund our deposit. We called numerous times and were told by someone the hotel is closed and the manager will get back to us. We tried for two months and no response and no refund. Beware when you make reservations there.

This hotel exudes timeless fun in a 1930’s Art Deco kind of way. You could smell the charm from a mile away. It was a great balance between cozy and cute yet comfortable and edgy. The ideal location for anyone up for exploring Cagliari at any time of the day. The price for this room was absolutely justified and I would recommend this to friends and family. Having traveled all around the world, I couldn’t believe the low cost of my room. The staff was very friendly, assisting with every need. Breakfast was served every morning overlooking the main square. (I think I could have stared out that window for hours on end.) There were endless amounts of art at every turn, always leaving you surprised and looking forward to what you were going to find next. The art above my bed takes the cake and will forever be a conversation starter! Check out some of my photos to see what I’m taking about!

Love this Art Deco hotel in the centre of the town. I was upgraded to the harbour view suite. It’s a very unique hotel . Staff was extremely friendly and gave us all the info about the city. Breakfast was freshly prepared. It’s full of art piece. They served us welcome drink in the lounge when we arrived which was a nice touch.

Miramare Museum Hotel is the best you can think of. BVery central and in front of the sea and the port. walking distance from the shopping area. Every room is different, breakfast is served in a regal way, the service is top of the top. Every time is a pleasant surprise. I wonder how the can anticipated client's wish

The Miramare is not a hotel but a B&B pension that is located in the 3rd floor of an apartment / office building. There are partly other B&Bs on other floors of the same building. Acceeding the 3rd floor with luggage in the moment of arrival is a sportive challenge because the small elevator only works if you have a key which you receive at the reception which is on the 3rd floor. So, if you don't want to leave your luggage unattended in the entrance of the building (which you shouldn't as this is the very busy harborfront street), you have to carry all the luggage up the stairs to the 3rd floor yourself. Our room was so small that there was practically no space except for the bed. No space to store and unpack the luggage properly. It must have been a former servant's room of the flat. The window showed to a narrow courtyard which was full of air condition machines that made so much noise night and day that you couldn't open the window at any time. The courtyard, or slot, was so narrow that you could almost touch the opposite windows. The breakfast buffet was already eaten up by a hungry family before we arrived and was not refilled, although we arrived more than an hour before the closing time. The worst thing however was the cheaty and uncommunicative behaviour of the management: When we left, we received a closed envelope, the receptionist saying "all is settled already, you're all fine, no further payment necessary". As we are not suspicious persons and were eager to continue our round trip, we had no doubts, took the envelope and left. When I checked my next credit card invoice after returning home, I saw that Miramare had booked off 100 € too much for the night, obviously a mistake as I thought. They had no signature for the too high amount, it was a clearly unauthorized charging. I wrote to the hotel by email right away but received no answer. I wrote again several times but received no answers again. Then I called the hotel by phone. The receptionist, an older gentleman, said he would look into the case and would call back, but he never did. Some days later I called again, the same receptionist just said "I cannot help you". I asked him who could help me and what I could do further to get our money back, he only repeated "I cannot help you.", again and again, like a machine. Each time I called again, the same repetition "I cannot help you." Once when I called, I had another receptionist on the phone, a young lady. She said she knew my case and she would help me, she would call back in 10 minutes, but she never did. When I called again, the older gentleman was on the phone again. I told him that the young lady promised to call back and that I would like to speak to her, he repeated only "I cannot help you". Every time I called, I asked for the manager of the Miramare of course. Again the same answer "Nobody can speak to the manager, I cannot help you." This was the spookiest experience I ever had travelling. Days later I had a young man on the phone who refused to indicate his name but listened and wrote an email to his boss while speaking with me. Also here no answer or call back. Only with pressure through my credit card company I was finally able to receive the refund which took about 3 months. No communication or excuse from Miramare at all. This was the worst and most mafiotic experience I ever had travelling.

The 3 stars I am giving this B&B is an average of a bunch of 5-rated stuff and a bunch of 1-rated stuff. First, the good stuff. Location: On the waterfront within walking distance of many of the historic, cultural, and archeological sites in Cagliari. Also within walking distance of dozens of restaurants of various ethnicities, prices and food/service quality. Staff : very pleasant and helpful with restaurant reservations, advice on how to get places, and any other arrangements you may find useful. Room Service : available 24 hrs with a range of options. You'll pay for it, but it is there if you need it. Breakfast: Excellent. Library: an eclectic collection that can amuse or educate you on a variety of subjects, some of them quite unexpected. Art: many interesting pieces in the common areas. Now, the bad stuff. Location: First, the name “Mira Mare” is misleading. The view from those areas that have one (our room didn't) is actually “Mira Porto.” If commercial seagoing vessels interest you, go for it. Next, the B&B occupies only the third floor of the building; you have to figure this out for yourself when you arrive. There is an elevator, but you can't access it on the ground floor without a key, which you get when you check in. Unless you want to schlepp your luggage up the stairs, send the fittest member of your party to the third floor, take the elevator to the ground floor (no key needed from up there), and load up. The elevator is a charming antique. Room: Ours was small to the point of being cramped; my wife and I found it hard to move around at the same time. The walls and ceiling were adorned by underwater scenes of Finding-Nemo-like smiling fish, squid, octopi, and, inexplicably, free-diving cattle. If you are younger than 8, it's probably charming. I found it irritating. Bathroom: The hot water supply is shared and small, so the shower varies randomly from whatever you set it to to cold to scalding to no water at all. Avoiding burns and hypothermia required more agility than I possess. The bathroom features a very long sink, long enough to be suitable for watering livestock. Unless you are traveling with large animals, however, this is not a plus. The sink occupies nearly the entire wall it is attached to, leaving very little counter space. The flooring is peeling off the substrate in places (the flooring in other areas needs repair as well.)

maybe not to everyone's taste - say if you prefer a more bland and homogenised approach and need everything in immaculate condition - but I spent 11 nights here and no complaints. the room I had was lovely (though I got a good deal on a free upgrade and I can see how some might think the rooms are a bit overpriced) - beautiful harbour view, and (I presume) original (high!) decorative ceiling, quirky but attractive decor - plus everything (internet, A/C, shower) worked perfectly. Breakfast is pretty good (esp the cakes) and the staff are very friendly in a formal sort of way, attentive and unintrusive. The rooms facing the main road/harbour do get a lot of traffic noise, but you're 3 floors up, there's little stereotypical Italian hooting etc, and I slept fine with ear-plugs. Be aware that the lift doesn't always work, so if you arrive and this is the case use the reception intercom by the front door. Also the photos here give a more realistic impression than the hotel's website (!).
