This hotel was nice and large and the room was very comfortable. The whole place has been neglected. It must have been a wonderful hotel at one time, but now it is very worn looking. The shower in the bathroom was grungy looking. The staff were very accommodating though and quite helpful. Breakfast was very good.
Ok so this might take some time but I think everyone should know what follows before even thinking on book at this hotel. THIS IS NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL!!! It's a scam!!! I did book here for 13 nights and I literally had to go away after two nights as the rooms are ridiculously old, full of issues, and incredibly uncomfortable!!! After the first night, I woke up with extreme back pain due to the extremely poor quality of the mattress!! Seriously the worst ever slept on in 20 years of travelling!!!! The staff at the reception though, very kindly did agree to change my room. Unfortunately, the new one was even worse and with more issues!!!! I could not sleep at all due to a very loud machanic / electric noise coming from the bathroom's ceiling that goes off every 2 minutes sharp!! Literary every 2 minute period you had to listen at this strong noise which made impossible for me to sleep. So at 2am I had to go to the reception to ask to fix the issue which unfortunately, it couldn't be fixed as that is the way it is in that hotel!!! Apparently for them it's normal!! In addition the super loud music from the restaurant downstairs it is on up to almost 1am!!! What a fraud!! Furthermore, even in this room qthe mattress was so old and flat that you couldn't sleep on it!! (see pictures attached) The bathroom of both rooms (so I suspect all of them) have no windows nor a fan!!!! Seriously????? In a 4 star hotel bathrooms without ventilation????? What a joke!!!!! I've been travelling for 20 years this year, and I have honestly not seen anything so badly maintained in my travel life!!! Probably the owners is friend to someone at the council, and paid them to get the 4 stars, tipical Italian situation. This is a real scam. This hotel does not deserve more than 2 stars. No gym, no pool, horrible mattress, no ventilation in the bathrooms nor a windows, noise!!! What on earth. I had to cancel the rest of my staying (10 more nights) and book somewhere else which did cost me 30% more. The only positive thing that can be saved from this experience is the staff. From the very kind ladies that clean the rooms, to the staff at the reception (both the day and night staff) and the people at the restaurant, they are all very good, professional and people with good heart. What a waste, I hope for them that they can find a better job in a better place as they deserve. Very disappointed of booking to sell this horrible place as a 4 star hotel. Unbelievable. Ridiculous.…
Comfortable rooms, good breakfast, friendly personnel. A little bit far from the center, but this is probably associated to the highly affordable price. And the convenient 3-day or weekly bus tickets can help in this area. My only complaint concerns the free internet connection. It got saturated every evening, and could only be used efficiently in the morning or late at night.
This hotel is not in the city center, but only 10 minutes walk there you can take a bus and its NOT FAR. Some people are just lasy and dont like walking. They have a free parking garage and that is difficult to find in Cagliari. The hotel is ok. I was only 1 night. So i didnt mind
Location: This 4 Star hotel is located far away from the city center of Cagliari. It is almost located out of nowhere. A bus stop is far away. Here are no shops in the neighborhood. Opposite a very busy street is not far away. The hotel is located in an apartment area. We wanted to visit their excellent rated restaurant Caesare. This is listed at TA also for lunch. To be on the safe side we have asked our hotel to call their restaurant to make a reservation. Then our hotel staff got informed from the Hotel Caesare that today only a lunch buffet is offered! This information of Hotel Caesare was wrong!! But at this time we were unable to recognize it. So we made a reservation for two people. Then we ordered a Taxi to reach the Hotel Caesare. At 1:50 p.m. we have reached the hotel and went to the reception to inform them about our reservation. Now (!!) we got informed that the Restaurant Caesare is closed. The buffet is available in the restaurant "Patio". When entering this restaurant at first glance we saw that it is (was) looking very simple. Inside it was also looking like a cheap canteen. There were no private or individual guests. Only a big Touristic group was in this room. On each table a menu was placed. The name of the menu was: " Gran Buffet Caesar's Hotel". At a price of 23,00 € the buffet was offered including "bibite and Liquori ". With other words including drinks and Liquor. No Liquor was served at any time. All the meals were cold! Why? The staff has forgotten to light the heaters!! We have taken pictures. You can see it published at restaurant Caesare. As a main course "Secondo del giorno " only little Burgers were available!! Each offered fish was cold! The wine list was only available in/on the electronic device of the waiter. The simple bottle of white wine ( Stellato) was charged with 25,00 €. Refilling wine into the glass was self service. My individual subjective rating for this restaurant is : Service: 1 point Quality and preparation of meals: 1 point Value for money: 1 point Ambiance: 2 points Now we went to the reception desk and informed the staff that we wanted to talk to the General Manager! After 10 minutes a lady appeared. She introduced herself only with her name of "Ines". We thought that she would be the ordered and wanted General Manager. So we were very surprised that she said that she cannot speak English!! And then it turned out that she said that she is the Reception Manager!! Try to imagine that at the reception the responsible person is unable to speak English!! Again we have asked her that we want to speak to the General Manager. We added that in case he is not available she should write down his name and mail address. This conversation was done/ hold in Italiano by a teacher of Italiano. Of course we have not received name and mail address of the General Manager. After waiting another 10 minutes and English speaking "manager" appeared. His name was " Andrea". He said he is the Manager of the Restaurant Caesare. After we informed him about our detailed experiences he 1.: confirmed that- with his words- both restaurants " Patio" and "Caesare" are like black and white!! 2. : He also confirmed that the cook and the kitchen (like cuisine!!) is the same! 3.: Only the staff (waiters, servers) are (is) different! 4.: He also has asked us: " Why haven't you returned back when you have seen all of this "? As a result of this statement of the restaurant Manager you now can say that the quality and preparation of both restaurants is the same. Then I have asked him for a compensation. His only answer was "Why don't you come in the evening to our restaurant "Caesare"? To get the identically same quality and preparation?? With other words there was no compensation at all! Of course this manager has also not given us the name and mail address of the General Manager. But be sure I will find it out! Hopefully it will be read by the management! So we can say that the staff is hiding this problem from this management. Now you can imagine what will happen when a resident of this hotel has a problem or complaint!…
Hotel lived to all expectations. Location very suitable if travelling by car. Ample car space. Excellent breakfast with wide range of food and drinks including sparkling wine. Rooms are quite spacious and very clean. Furniture and bathroom need upgrading. Jacuzzi in bath and functions well.
the room had the following problems: AC did not work. toilet did not work. the shower did not work.the hotel smelled of mold. the large atrium celing was either glass or plastic. in many places it was black. i therefor assumed it was mold. some of the staff were nice and some not helpful. when i asked to talk to the manager he refused to take the phone. however, breakfast was very good. The hotel was build probably in the 50s and never updated. During the shower I almost burned myself due to the fact that the hotel forgot to turn on cold water to my room. The A/C had a funny remote but as many other features of the hotel was not functioning- and sleeping in a sticky and stuffy room with dirty windows was quite unpleasant. I was very surprised that the hotel had 4 stars- in US it would barely qualify as a motel. The receptionists were foreigners and almost none of them spoke any english or tried to communicate. Would never recomend anyone to stay there - it ruins any good memory of Sardinia and leaves one frustrated and unhappy - specially with rude and ignorant staff.
after welcomed by the reception staff we had another lovely welcome in the room: on the bed layed towels folded into cute dogs surrounded by flower leaves. It was a very spacious room with a kingsize bed which was amazingly comfortable. The bathroom had an excellent shower and everything was provided; soap, shampoo, tissues..... Breakfast was amazing: so much variety, a nice buffet. We also had dinner at the restaurant and again very good food. Down side of this moment: all the courses came rather quick after one another. More time between each course would be nice. This is an excellent hotel with friendly staff, very nice rooms and good food. It's a 20 minutes drive from the airport and it is situated in a quiet area. I would definitely chose this hotel again and recommend it to other people.…
Nice hotel but very outdated. The hotel urgently needs renovation, especially in the shower room. Breakfast nice and rich. There is no room Csft.abl kettle in the room. Staff are very effective and positive.
