I had a flight delay with my airline. I recommend this hotel because they could have been greedy and ripped me off and charged me more, but did not. They were able to accommodate me for arriving at a different time than expected. I feel like this is rare in the travel world. This was the type of positive experience that makes me want to come back and makes me want to see Sardinia again. The people here are so kind, it is refreshing.
our 4th time here and as always great hospitality and rooms are extremely clean and anything you need they will help you, we didn't eat at the restaurant this time but it's fabulous, speaks good English if you need it
This hotel is fantastic! There is so much to say about it. It is in a beautiful old building, and immaculately maintained. Our room had two balconies that were fantastic, and a very large bedroom with a bathroom, and another bathroom with a large bathtub. It was a two story room. We only stayed 2 nights, and we wish we had stayed another two nights. The location is fabulous, One block from the Main Square in One Direction, and two blocks from the waterfront in the other direction. Their breakfast is delicious, and their dinner restaurant is superb! The staff is very kind and very helpful with anything at all that one would need. I highly recommend this hotel. We can’t wait to return.
This hotel was just a delight. My room had an elegant private terrace. The Aircon was great. The hotel is from the 30s and lovely with lots of turn of the century furniture. V stylish. It's one minute from the centre on a lovely quiet square. The staff were adorable. It's family owned and run (and a small boy may follow the waitress around the restaurant). A fantastic restaurant --outside on a shady terrace-I went every night. Amazing food. In short reader, it just doesn't get any better than this.
The hotel is in a central location, close to the old part of town. We didnt get a very nice welcome at reception when we arrived, not very friendly. The room ( a junior suite) was very nice except for the presentation of the bed, wrinkled bedsheets, no bed cover or spread. Very poor. A special thank you to the staff who were preparing breakfast. Extremely nice ladies. Breakfast had to be ordered the night before due to covid restrictions . Good breakfast.
Very professional staff. 5/5 cleanness. Very good breakfast. Large enough rooms. It has a shuttle service from/to the airport which is very helpful and costs 25€/car. Otherwise there’s a nearby train station to reach the airport by train. A bit old design and furnitures, lamps flickering.
This was a fantastic find, as is the city of Cagliari itself. Great hotel and great location near to all the restaurants and travel hubs. Faultless! The hotel is quite quirky with some lovely antique furniture and an antique toy collection carefully placed and presented in and around the rooms in the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. We booked in to the hotel for our honeymoon and chose one of the 3 junior suites. Definitely worth paying the extra. The room was split level with a reception room and bathroom downstairs. You then ascend a spiral staircase to a vast bedroom and large ensuite in the eves. Very romantic! The restaurant strip is located a 2 min uphill walk from the hotel. The transport hubs are located a 2 min walk downhill from the hotel. Would highly recommend taking a bus to Poetto beach. There are 3 buses from the piazza at the bottom of the hill (PF, PQ and the Poetto express). All take approx 20 mins. Just download the CTM App, buy your 90 minute ticket for Euro 1.30 and off you go! The beach is inundated with beach clubs and bars. If you want a relaxing time then wander up to the far end of the beach and visit the Frontemare beach club or the Belvedere club. Both charge between Euro 20 to Euro 30 a day for 2 people, including towel, parasol and loungers. It's table service to your loungers and the food and drink selection is fabulous. When you're ready to go home just google map the nearest bus stop, buy another bus ticket through the CTM App and off you go. Simples! The sites of Cagliari are easily reached on foot and are amazing photo opportunities. You won't be disappointed by the hotel or the city and nearby beach, unless you're a fan of minimalistic, characterless hotels. If it's a buzzing nightlife you want then visit the Poetto beach clubs after dark. They're numerous and open until 4am at weekends and 1am in the week.…
I did stay at Hotel Flora in November 2018 during my business trip to Sardegna. Hotel location is brillaint, just few steps away from the Old Town and main tourist attractions of Cagliari, easy to get from the airport. Parking on a street wasn't a problem, could find a place. Hotel Flora is a very cosy family run place to stay with a nicetraditional design and exhibition of old cars, toys etc on the staircase. The receptionists are welcoming all customers with a great smile, are happy to reccommend the best restaurants and bars around and suggest all attractions and places worth visiting. Hotel room was very big and spacious, designed in a very classic style, the bed was very comfortable, bathroom was very big. Both the room and public areas was very clean. The hotel restaurant serves a very good buffet breakfast with a great variety of different products, not only italian style. The service in the restaurant was very good as well. All things considered, hotel Flora is a perfect choice for a city break in Cagliari both for couples, single travellers and families. Thank you for making my stay in Cagliari memorable one!…
We chose Hotel Flora as it seemed to offer something a bit different and less corporate than some places we have stayed in recently. We were very pleased to find it met our expectations. It is puzzling that some reviewers have referred to the place as dreary and lacklustre as it is anything but. The restaurant is decorated with a variety of old paintings and many colourful displays in cabinets throughout. It's high ceilings do add to the elegance of the room. Overall the early 20th century style of the hotel and the items chosen to showcase produces a sense of class and individuality. The front desk staff were also very friendly and over our four days at the hotel we saw and spoke with different members of staff and found them all to be highy professional and helpful. Our room was very well appointed and the bathroom quite large. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had four excellent night's sleep. The breakfasts are varied and well set out. A minor point was that the scrambled egg was only on offer for two days. The hotel is in a great position not far from the station, the seafront and the old town. We all had a lovely stay in Cagliari and the Hotel Flora helped to make it highly memorable.…
We picked this hotel because of its classic Italian atmosphere with high ceiling. Located in the oldtown where you can easily walk down to the station. We rented a car @ the airport and drove to / back from north of the island. When we arrived Calgali, we had difficulty finding a parking space in the city, so we checked in and left our baggage in the front and then returned the car. Train ride from the airport to the city was only 5 minutes or so, and it was easy walk from the station to the hotel. Many good Saldinian ristorantes are near by. Convenient to go everywhere in the city. As compared to the hotels in the north, we felt this hotel is more city type. Room was big enough for my family, but bathroom and shower booth were relatively small. Breakfast was okay. Receptionist speaks very good English.…
