My first time visiting beautiful Cagliari for vacation. I could only recommend this hotel. Minutes walk from the Cagliari station. Rooms are impeccable, clean, modern, just perfect. The hotel also imposed strict COVID guidelines, mask in public areas, disinfection, etc. The hotel is a family-run business, and Giuseppe, his sister, and their hotel staff were all so hospitable. I really had a wonderful enjoyable stay at the hotel. I found my regular hotel in Cagliari. Many thanks to all at Galli Bianco.
This hotel is convenient for a variety of reasons - first, the location is not far from the airport, is very near the train station, but more importantly to our group, near the car rental agencies, as we were planning to rent a car to explore Sardinia. Secondly, the hotel was willing to keep a large suitcase for a week as we needed to downsize our luggage to fit in our rental car, and were continuing on to Tunisia a week later. and had more baggage for the later part of our trip. Incredibly helpful! As for the rest - our room was super clean, very reasonably priced, the staff were friendly and there is a large outdoor patio for meeting up with our friends. While the location isn't the most attractive in Cagliari, this hotel is just what we needed at the beginning and end of our trip around Sardinia.…
Stayed here with a group in early October. Rooms are modern and stylish with especially lovely bathrooms with great water pressure. Breakfast was excellent- fruit, pastry, homemade cake (including a vegan cake), meats, cheese, yoghurts, cereals. I’m not sure what other reviewers are looking for other than a full English which doesn’t exist in Italy. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and charming from the reception to the breakfast room to the chambermaids. Location is very good, opposite the train station with buses to the beach etc. I had a room on the street side and there was no noise at all. A few minutes walk from the main areas. All 12 of us had a great stay.
I have been to a lot of hotels and this experience is up there with the best, we arrived late because of our flights was delayed and the receptionist Giuseppe helped us to our room with our bags, the room was spotless and very refreshing hotel. The next day we wanted to book an activity and we didn’t know how to do it and the receptionist I think her name was simona went above and beyond and sorted out everything for us and made it so easy. Breakfast was okay but needs a bit more of a wider selection. I will be returning to this hotel and will be recommending to my friends when they come out here to stay and it’s very good value for money.
This hotel is an excellent location for the city and train station from the airport. My room was modern and clean and the gardens were beautiful and perfect for sipping a glass of wine in the evening. Breakfast was fine although as a Brit you miss the cooked ingredients.
Cagliari does not have so many reliable hotels downtown (the best are in the outskirts by the sea) and Il Gallo Bianco is a viable solution. It occupies the first floor of a new building and all the rooms are located around (or close to) a large terrace where breakfast is served. All rooms are neat and spotless, furnished in contemporary taste. Mine (no. 3) had also the added benefit of a private terrace. I do not know whether the rooms overlooking the street are equally quiet, but they all have double glass windows. Staff is kind and cooperative. Breakfast could be better (the choice of food is not terrific and bread is not so fresh). Overall I think that I would stay there again.
This hotel is lovely. Not really obvious from the main street but easy to find if you’re looking closely. The check-in was quick and the gentleman on reception was friendly and helpful. We were in a deluxe double and it was delightful. Comfy bed and good shower. The only downside was that the bathroom door was not soundproof at all so seemed redundant having it. The breakfast was relatively basic but the lady serving was so friendly and gave great service.
My friend booked this wonderful boutique hotel for us for 2 nights and I was more than impressed! Giuseppe greeted us making sure we felt welcomed and gave us some information on the city and what there was to do/see. The hotel itself is immaculate. Probably the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Our double room was pristine with everything needed for a short trip away (hairdryer, safe, mini fridge) My friend had mentioned to the hotel in advance that I am vegan and they made an extra effort and made sure all staff were aware of this so that in the mornings at breakfast they had separate vegan foods, a gorgeous cake, even vegan croissants! Great selection of fruits too. The location of this hotel is perfect, opposite the train station and trains from the airport take only 10 minutes! A much cheaper and better option than a taxi! You’re also in the heart of the city so walking distance to many places with great bus routes to the beach! I would 100% recommend this hotel. …
We stayed here for 1 night when we first arrived in Sardinia. Find it was difficult the first time mainly die to the lack of signage. If you are looking for it go by the street address - No. 237 Via Roma, as you won't recognise it as a hotel from the street. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room adequate and clean. breakfast was average but then a continental breakfast in our mind is ....average. Wifi was good and free and the Hotel has no private parking. You have to try and find a white line parking space in the street which is not easy. We would recommend parking in the railway station carpark which is not too far away and costs 6 Euros per day.
In developing this hotel, the owners have taken a chance on the improvement of the immediate area. Via Roma is one of the main streets, but the hotel is not situated on the current smart section. It faces a mix of derelict and updated buildings. It is a good walk to Piazza Yenne. Internally, good money has been spent on the room / bathroom fittings. The rooms are a good size and comfortable. There is a pleasant roof area with seating. The staff are generally competent English speakers and really anxious to please. However, though recently fitted out, our bathroom was already showing signs of wear. Some fittings were loose. The mastic at the edge of the bath had already parted so water was going to go down the wall. The pergola over the roof had been constructed from untreated wood and was already starting to rot .Those things indicate the installations had not been done to an appropriate standard. The place is already looking not quite how it aims to present itself. From a client perspective, there is nothing to tell you what to do in the event of a fire, and the staff are only on site between 08:00 and 20:00. …
