In the heart of Sicilian Baroque, in refined hospitality and elegance, a place full of Catania’s atmosphere of the ‘700s, Palazzo Marletta – overlooking Piazza Duomo, a few steps from sites of historical and cultural interest – is a journey through time of a historic city that, envelopes guests in the magic and splendor of the period thanks to the architectural decorations of the building. Palazzo Marletta is a beautiful boutique hotel, restored in a minimalist contemporary style, designed to allow its guests to savour the atmosphere of 18th century Sicilian life and its perfumes.

I booked this last minute and they arranged my pick up from the airport, and stayed around for my late arrival (small extra fee, no staff on site overnight) On arrival we were upgraded to the very best room, beautifully decorated in gold and with a balcony overlooking the square where the festival was taking place.
Despite all the people the room was very quiet and tranquil and we felt very looked after. Excellent, caring English speaking staff who wanted to talk in English to practise and excellent help and information arranging our tour to Mount Etna.
The breakfast was fresh and typical of the region and set us up for the day with plenty of tea coffee and fresh orange juice and cake!
There is no lounge here but there is a small bar with snacks available if required in the evening which was useful when you want to escape the busy city.
Very pleased with our choice and would return, we felt very welcome.
Thank you for an enjoyable stay we didn't want to leave.

We spent New Years'eve at Palazzo Marletta and couldn't have found a better place. We were just on the Duomo Square (also we had a balcony overlooking the Duomo),this was useful as on the 31st at a certain time the policemen closed the square because of the concert (for security reasons) but we were already inside so we didn't have to queue and could enjoy the show. The hotel has huge beautiful rooms, the finest baroque decorations and furniture. The staff is simply amazing, they help you with everything! they also prepare a superb breakfast with the best sicilian products. If I would choose it again? For sure!!!

We booked something last minute for a hotel central to Catania and we were very impressed with what we got. Once we got here it was a little confusing to get in the door and get buzzed up to reception but once that was settled, we had a beautiful room which was restored to its original historic style. The room was spacious, bed was comfortable, bathroom was modern and the breakfast was decent. The staff was very friendly and eager to help. Best of all it is in a central part of Catania without the room getting too much noise from the street and the wine bar restaurant just across the street was just another reason to stay here. Even the TV was modern with apps on it. I do not have a single constructive critique to offer. I wish I could offer better pictures but I took a video of the room which I cannot post.

Palazzo Marletta is an absolute jewel in the middle of Catania. It is a 400 year old building with an insuperable location. It only has 7 luxury rooms with all sorts of amenities and without leaving any detail behind. Despite being a very small boutique hotel, they have carefully taken every detail into consideration. Our room was very spacious with an eclectic combination of the original well preserved architecture and very modern Kartell pieces of furniture. Above all, the personnel of the hotel are who really turn it into a VIP concierge experience. Renato, Serena and Flavia are there to make sure you are completely covered with any possible detail and they sure go the extra mile with their kindness and fantastic attitude. We stayed 5 nights (I believe is a record there) and made it our “headquarters” to visit other nearby cities. I can not recommend this hotel enough to anyone visiting Catania.

this design hotel is situated only a few meters grom the duomo, so ideal for visiting the center of Catania.
it is hidden in an old “palazzo”, has
been totally renovated and modernized.
the staff is very friendly and professional. there are few rooms, so it is quiet and unlike classic 5 star hotels. in fact it is
more a boutique hotel.
there is restaurant in the hotel but there are plenty of good restaurants very close by.
the room we had was modern, design and spacious enough. bathroom also modern with nice shower. good quality bed. very quiet room.
given the limited space breakfast needs to organized so all guests don’t eat at the same time, but the reservation system works well.
attention; once in the hotel there is no elevator, so be aware for heavy luggage. but the staff will certainly help you out.
there is a valet service but you should call 30 min in advance of arrival.
not a hotel for people traveling with kids.
certainly to be recommended as an excellent hotel!

Very comfortable bed and room. On a quiet street close to the popular palazzo. The building is old but the interior is new. The staff is very helpful and helped me get an airport transport very early . The staff helped me get clothes laundered on an expedited basis. The room has marble floors and allows the guest to control the room temperature. If you are going to Catania, you should stay here.

This place is a gem! Wow we were impressed! This is a historic 17th century (I believe 1693) building with renovated modern hotel. It is adjacent to the Duomo but tucked away in a quiet street nearby.

The staff is amazing from Renato to Alessandra you could not ask for better service. But what blew us away is the restoration of this majestic rooms (I believe only 7 rooms).

Breakfast was included in our rate and we could choose from amazing Sicilian treats and we selected the breakfast the night before. Then in the morning the amazing breakfast was brought in pushable service table that was beautifully decorated. Delicious!

Highly recommend this wonderful place!

PS they also organized transportation to airport

This hotel is a gem. The staff Renato, Alessandra and Serena gave us first class treatment. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed 3 nights in a lovely room called Celestia which was ultra comfortable and included a balcony with a retractable roof..rain shower…Etro toiletries…great location off the main Duomo Square , close to the bus station that brought us to the beach ..close by to many fab restaurants and the fish market ..Highly recommended !! I cannot emphasize enough what a perfect choice this is when visiting Catania. We researched many hotels and narrowed it down to two. And while this one cost a bit more, it was absolutely worth it. The property is sparkling clean, and does a brilliant job of blending the historic charm and elements with modern finishes. The rooms are breathtaking.

The location is ideal. It is right on the corner of the main square- Piazza Duomo, and in the center of the old town. While walking around, I spotted some of the other hotels we had previously considered, and while the locations weren’t bad, I can say that Palazzo Marletta’s positioning is much better— right at the most scenic and atmospheric part of Catania.

Last but not least, the service is excellent. Allesandra, Serena, and Eugenia were all so helpful, even before arrival— quickly responding to emails with great assistance. During our stay, they were so warm and eager to provide assistance, or even make a cup of fresh Sicilian espresso.

Staying at Palazzo Marletta really added to the experience of visiting Catania. You won’t be disappointed— it exceeds all expectations.

The service and attention to detail here were excellent. The staff were extremely helpful, including one person who went way above and beyond and helped my wife sort out a problem with our airline reservations. From the welcoming glass of wine, the morning coffee and croissants, and the beautiful room, the experience exceeded our expectations. With a location in the heart of Catania with a view of the Duomo, we were just a short walk from numerous restaurants and night life. We did use their valet service, as parking in this central area is challenging. We would certainly stay here again.
