The people who work here are very nice and the breakfast was good. But the room was in really bad shape and the entire place needs some TLC. People were smoking in the public areas. No hair dryer, no safe, and they still use skeleton keys. We didn't feel safe in the room at all. If I wasn't so tired, I would have left and found another room. I also didn't want to take a shower. It is up three flights of stairs and in an undesirable area. They do help you with your bags and we usually don't mind stairs because we like the exercise. But this was excessive. I wonder how this place got such good reviews.
Stayed here for one night with family of 4. The arrival at the hotel in the evening felt a little dicey, down a dark alley with graffiti and a bit unclear how to enter. However, after that, the experience was very good. The gentleman at reception was extremely friendly and accommodating, and provided assistance with bags on the stairs. The room (room 4) was dated but large and comfortable. Plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 kids. Breakfast was very generous with savory and sweet selections. Excellent quality, with a very friendly staff member there and served on a lovely balcony. Overall a good choice.
From first impression of the street entrance and the central courtyard we were a bit disappointed but once we got up to the hotel we were pleasantly surprised by the welcoming atmosphere and the spacious comfortable rooms. We were even more surprised at the abundant delicious fresh breakfast the following morning. Genuinely recommended and will certainly come back anytime we're in Catania.
Very beautiful and clean. Staff are lovely. Centrally located and close to restaurants, shops and a laundrette. Breakfast is delicious and always served with a smile. Everyone there goes out of their way to help. Will most certainly be back.
1.the location of the hotel is excellent (close to the train station and the center) 2. delicious and very rich breakfast 3. excellent accommodation - large room, balcony, cleaning is daily 4. the host is very kind, and the reception is open 24/24 5. I recommend this hotel! Score 10
The staff were very nice and friendly and waited for us until after midnight. They served rich and excellent breakfast on a terrace with a lovely view. The room was spacious and clean with fresh towels and a small balcony. The location was also quite central, only 5 minutes on foot from the Piazza Duomo. Highly recommended.
So wonderfully beautiful, quintessentially Scicillian... the building with period charm really does ooze culture and character. We loved our stay here and hope to return one day. Situated just a few hundred yards of the city centre and key transport links to neighboring Taormina and Siracusa. Really friendly staff, all too eager to help.
The taxi dropped us at one of those dirty gates that lead into a dirty yard. We were dismayed and then had to climb several flights of stairs of this ancient building to get to the 'hotel.' The manager carried our bags, thankfully. However, by the time we got to the umpteenth floor, we had made our mind up we couldn't do that climb up and down several times a day. The room itself was clean, but poor. I was surprised, as it wasn't that cheap to stay there. I asked for a reduction in the price I had to pay. None was forthcoming. We looked up another place in Catania. Thankfully, they had a room for us, and only on the first floor! Stay at the Anfiteatro Les Suites. Perfect!
Very close to central area. Parking space inside the building. Friendly staff. Nice room, Internet work ok. Excellent breakfast on the terrace, with natural juicesm fruits, eggs and fresh baked cofee . No elevato, but very helpfull staff can carry your bag if needed. ( Thank you!!)
We booked a room here 3 months before travelling and even phoned to confirm the day before. On arrival we were told we didn’t have a room but eventually gave us one. After unpacking and going to bed we were then thrown out of our room at 2am saying our room was allocated to someone else who had just arrived. The whole experience was a disastrous start to a holiday of a lifetime.
