A four night stay in one (or the only?) of the suites. We'll start with the only negative that means it isn't a five star review. The cleanliness wasn't perfect. Surfaces very dusty on arrival and not cleaned during our few days. Beyond that the suite was on two levels and great. Loads of space. A bathroom and a shower room, both of which were very modern. A door out onto our own patio/bit of rooftop with a table and seats. A real sun trap. The staff were mostly very nice and friendly and helped us with getting to know the area, providing a hairdryer etc. The breakfast was basic but a good mixture with some local delicacies each day. It's in a noisy bit of town with traffic, so perhaps not great if you are a light sleeper but the bed was excellent. Because it's away from the most touristy bit (which is still incredibly accessible) there are a couple of nearby fish restaurants that are frequented by some locals as well a visitors. Very reasonably priced. We would definitely stay again and were happy to see past the imperfections for an interesting, slightly oldy worldy hotel.

Wonderful hotel. Small, comfortable, and well situated. Front desk staff was very welcoming and kind, happy to give recommendations. Breakfast was good, great variety especially for such a small hotel. Location is unbeatable, walking distance to everything, including the central train station. I would absolutely stay here again. Grazie mille !

Excellent choice for a couple of days in Catania, especially for the price! Nicely appointed room and bathroom, great breakfast, good location with easy access to many sites and transport options, and fantastic staff. At higher end of the 3-star range and a superb value. Definitely worth booking!

This review is based on a small, foldable mobility scooter. Prior to staying I had email correspondence with the hotel to clarify the accessible features. Upon arrival I was very disappointed to find the features were not as described and as a consequence I could not enter and leave the hotel independently, use the lift independently or safely have a shower. The pavement outside the entrance is a very steep dropped kerb. This leads to a wide steeped threshold into the hotel. They have a wooden ramp which goes up and over the threshold. The wooden ramp plus the slopped path made entering very steep to the point that the scooter flipped back, luckily the rear stabilisers stopped me falling. I had no choice but to climb over the threshold on foot whilst my companion carried the scooter in and out the hotel. The lift in the hotel is very small, hardly wider than the width of an average sized person, it can fit 1-3 people is single file one in front of the other. It cannot fit a standard manual wheelchair because the entrance, exit and lift are not wide enough. We had to fold the scooter up to get it into the lift. My companion and I then had to use the lift one at a time. The room has a wet room shower with no hand rails, standard sink with no hand rails, disabled height loo with no hand rails. The shower floor is polished and very slippery when wet. The do not have a bathmat (I did ask). It was not safe for me to shower and my abled body companion had a few slip near misses when showering. The beds can be made up as twin or double. The bed was low. There are no accessible features in the room. There is a blackout blind and balcony. The corridors are narrow with tight turning space. Breakfast is in the restaurant. This has more turning space. Some breakfast items were out of reach. The entrance is open 24/7. The decor throughout the hotel is fresh clean and well cared for. When I tried to discuss the challenges I'd faced during my stay and my disappointment that my expectations hadn't been clearly set during our email correspondence the hotel owner took the ableist view of "It doesn't matter, I can see you walk a bit". And when I explained I hadn't been able shower they were very defensive maintaining "You won't find a more beautiful bathroom". In the end they did acknowledge there were no hand rails in the bathroom but advised they were on order.

Delightful boutique hotel conveniently located near the old town and central station. My room was quite spacious overlooking the local neighbourhood. Reception staff very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was delicious and fresh. The owner of the hotel gracious, kind and always available to assist. I would highly recommend this hotel when visiting gorgeous Catania.

The hotel staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They helped find us another room for an additional night's stay due to the Italian Airport workers strike. The price we paid was very good as was our room and also the breakfast. The hotel is halfway between the bus/train station and the main tourist attractions. We would certainly recommend this hotel.

The picture that appears when searching for this hotel is deceiving because the hotel is not on a big piazza and is not the building shown. The hotel is not on a particularly busy street (this is good), at least not on the weekend that we were there, and it is in a good location to see the main sites in Catania. We had a lovely room, which looked like it was recently updated and modernized. One glitch - I am 5'2" and my feet didn't touch the floor when sitting in the lavatory! There is a good selection of breakfast items, and I particularly recommend what I think was a pistachio cake with frosting of some type (it was delicious!). The hotel staff was friendly and welcoming. My extended family had some laughs trying to figure out how to open the elevator door from the inside. If you are American, you may want to ask the desk staff before getting in it or risk feeling very dumb! The hotel is about 10 minutes from the airport, which is convenient for an early flight.
