Nice hotel. Close to the train and bus station. 20 min walk to the center of Catania. Nice and kind personel. Breakfast was nice. Little noisy durring night by traffic cause road is close to the hotel. Nice small garden inside hotel for breakfast.
We stayed at this delightful hotel on 3 different occasions, as we had used Catania as a base for our travels around Sicily and the Aeolian islands. The main reason we chose this hotel was its convenient location – walkable to the city centre, and very near the bus terminal. The hotel is also only about 20 minutes’ drive to the airport. The price is very reasonable for its central location and comfort (breakfast included). We had rented a car from the Catania Airport, and the hotel was easy to find with the help of Google Map. We managed to park our car for free at the ample parking by the side of the road just outside the hotel. Check-in was smooth (Good job, Alexandros!) and our rooms were spacious, with a balcony looking out to the front of the hotel. Decor was old-time elegant and everything worked well. We had stayed in their Standard Room and on our final stay, they gave us a Triple Room, which was much more spacious. The beds were comfortable. Linen and towels were clean. Breakfast was sufficient for Sicilian standard, and served at a large, beautiful open area on the first floor. Staff were friendly and helpful. We walked easily into town without having to use our car. Overall, for the price and location, we can highly recommend this hotel.…
The location of this hotel is extremely convenient as it's near the station, the shuttle bus to the airport and a comfortable walk away from Catania's historic centre. The rooms are spacious and clean; from what I could gather, all lead onto beautiful inner courtyards filled with flowering plants. These can be used for relaxing and also a lovely place for breakfast which was also good. The friendly staff topped off a great stay. Highly recommended.
We had an excellent stay in this hotel! The rooms were spacious & clean and the staff (Especially Francesco) was very helpful and friendly! The breakfast is also excellent and the lady that took care of us every morning! The garden/veranda amazing! Looking forward to visiting again Catania & Villa Romeo!!
We loved everything about this quirky hotel and had a great stay there! Located right next to main Catania station, but in the quiet street. We absolutely loved inner courtyards and gardens of this hotel, spacious and comfortable family room with balcony, nice shower, very clean, lovely breakfast.Special thanks to Francesco and Alex at the reception for warm welcome and being very helpful and nice through our stay.
Very nice hotel, close to everything , delicious generous breakfast. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Many thanks to Franceso - reception, he made us feel like we had a friend in Catania, he gave us many useful advice regarding our visit.
Room very clean with large bright bathroom. One door lead to a courtyard where you could eat breakfast in the sunshine (or sit indoors) or just relax. Service was great and Francesco Maravigna made us feel very welcome and gave us a very good recommendation about where to dine nearby.
Great location! Very easy to take bus to and from airport. Very close to train station. Can walk to historical center. Hotel is lovely and the courtyard is beautiful. Breakfast was lovely. Francesco is amazing. Our tour was late picking us up and he was happy to call and try and help us. Great customer service. I would return and stay here again. You won't be dissapointed.
The hotel itself is very nice. Clean, well-maintained with impressive old-fashioned decorative style. Breakfast is served 7-10am and is typical continental (with nice choice of cake). There is a rooftop lounging area with 4 sunbeds that really catches the sun. Our rooms was clean with air-con although the safe was broken. The location is ideal for the bus station and rail station. We got the train to Syracuse with only a 5 mins walk from the hotel. Easy to buy return ticket from machine but remember to get it stamped by the green machine on the platform before you get on the train. I believe that e-tickets can be bought online. Better to go to Taormina by bus as train station there is 45 min walk from the town centre. The bus tickets to there and Piazza Armerina are bought from the ticket office on Via Archimede (Etna Line) although you seem to be able to buy from the driver and get online. Villa Romana del Casale is a great place if you like Roman mosaics. Francesco on reception in the mornings is extremely helpful and will give you all the advice you need for travelling and arrange taxis for you. The only downside is that the local area is dirty, piles of rubbish everywhere and all the lower parts of the buildings are covered in graffiti and it's a 20 minute walk through all this to get to the town centre. Catania is not a great holiday destination but the area around Via Etnea is the best for restaurants and shopping.…
Across street from the train station. Nice clean room with a large shower. Helpful friendly staff. Helped me arrange a very early trip to the airport so I wasn't able to check out the breakfast. Great price.
