Cassaro 261 is located in the heart of today's Corso Vittorio Emanuele, inside a completely renovated building with a lift. Corso Vittorio Emanuele is the main road axis of the city of Palermo, whose ancient Arabic name was "al Qasr", Cassaro, from which the B&B takes its name. The vocation of the Bed & Book, already on the logo, and the central location make it the ideal starting point to discover the history of Palermo and of Sicily, through the pages of books and international authors that we have made available to our guests. Many of the rooms have an enviable view, some on Corso Vittorio Emanuele through large windows or balconies that fill the rooms with natural light; others have a view on San Matteo Church, a fine example of Baroque Palermo-style, inside which there are works by Giacomo Serpotta, Vito D'Anna and Pietro Novelli. Each room has a bibliography on Sicily, its places, its rich culinary history, but not only. The books that you will find in your room and in the common areas refer to the theme of travel tout court, thanks to great authors who have been able to take us around this wonderful island, through their words. Pampering our guests is our passion, especially at breakfast time. For this reason, every morning at Cassaro 261 B&B we wish a sweet and healthy good morning. Hot drinks, croissants, jams, butter and nutella, juices and a little Sicilian surprise, different every day. On request, eggs or toast. Sicilian colors and flavors directly in your room or on the balcony to start a new adventure in Palermo, kissed by the sun. While staying at Cassaro 261 B&B, visitors can check out Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglio (La Martorana) (0.1 mi) and Chiesa del Gesu (0.2 mi), some of Palermo's top attractions. Should time allow, Norman Palace and Palatine Chapel, Cattedrale di Palermo, and Palazzo Conte Federico are some popular attractions that are within walking distance.

Cassaro 261 is a little gem perfectly located in the heart of Palermo's historic area. One is able to walk everywhere - tourist attractions, train and bus stations, supermarkets, and the waterfront. The staff is friendly, helpful and immediately responded to our calls for assistance, like when we inadvertently locked ourselves out of our room. The rooms were bright, cheery, and most importantly immaculate. The refrigerator in the common area was a plus for us. I have stayed here twice and will make it three times on my next trip to Palermo.

I loved this B&B. Although that was not my first impression. We arrived in the evening and the building looked like a big, square Soviet-style apartment building from decades past. That all changed when we got to our room: modern, bright, cheerful, and immaculate. There is a common room that has a refrigerator and coffee maker. The staff is very accommodating. It's just two minutes from the Quatro Canti, so you will be near some great restaurants, shopping, and close to a city information office. Just note, that like all B&Bs you will need to text or call to arrange for a check-in time. No 24/7 front desk. Will definitely return on my next trip to Palermo.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Cassaro 261 B&B for three nights in July and had booked a double superior room with prepayment at around 100 Euro per night. The check-in was fast and smooth (however be aware that check-in is only possible either before 1 pm or after 3.30 pm) and we had received a nicely renovated room on the third floor with a balcony and a perfectly working air conditioning. The big downside however was, that our room was directly next to the breakfast area (see the attached picture) and was merely separated to it by a thin wooden door. Our bed was literally one meter away from this door. As breakfast is taking place everyday from 8 am to 10 am, one could hear every word spoken in the breakfast room - and of course also vice versa. We were lucky that there were only breakfast guests during one morning of our stay. We had requested to change our room, but were told not any other room would be available (despite booking.com showing room availability). Also note that despite the information on all booking platforms mentioning buffet breakfast, one apparently has to order the respective breakfast individually on the prior day. Overall, I find it quite cheeky to sell such a room with this limited privacy at this price - especially as a superior room.

Response from Interlude Management, Agenzia/Consulente at Cassaro 261 B&B
Responded 17 Aug 2022
Dear Marco, thank you for taking the time to write a comment. It is always important to know the feedback of our customers to improve our service. In particular, In particular, regarding the acoustic insulation of the room, you did not report the noise coming from the breakfast room and therefore we could not intervene with a change of room. Instead for what concerns breakfast, with anti covid legislation we can't do the buffet, for this reason we ask the client the day before what he wants and breakfast will be served directly at the table. Best regards

We booked two rooms - they were clean and just right for us. The breakfast had many delicious choices in breads and cakes, fruit, cereal and yogurt. The facility is located in the center of Palermo and all the main attractions can be easily reached by foot. The hosts were very friendly and helpful with recommendations. We strongly recommend this place.

We booked two rooms for two nights here last October. Since we had a rental car and had been warned about Italy's ZTL laws, we checked the map for Palermo and found that Cassaro 261 is inside the restricted traffic zone. We wrote to them well in advance (several times) and gave them the details of our car so that they could register it as a hotel guest vehicle. They eventually replied to the effect that it was ok or taken care of. Our stay there was fine ... it was a bit hard to find, being on the third floor of an apartment building with no signs to let you know where they are, but the rooms were nice and the breakfast good. The first surprise was when we went to check out and discovered that their credit card machine was "broken", so we had to unexpectedly shell out 350 euros in cash. The second and nastier surprise came 6 months later when we got notification from our car rental company that we had been fined 160 euros by the city of Palermo for driving in the ZTL and on top of that were billed 71 euros as a service charge by them. The infraction location was on the main street a couple of blocks from the hotel. I wrote to Cassaro and asked for them to rectify the ticket and reimburse the 71 euros but never got a reply. I don't know why they lied about the ZTL ... perhaps they are flying under the tax radar or there was some expense involved, but in any case, if you are traveling by car I would strongly urge you to avoid this hotel

It was a basic room but it was clean in a nice location. Continental breakfast was served with fruit, yogurt, coffee, granola bars etc. The owners were helpful with giving us directions and helping us to buy tickets to attractions.

The staff was very friendly and they helped us with everything. The room was perfect and clean with everything we need. The breakfast was abundant with some typical biscuits and cake from Sicilia. The facility is located in the center of Palermo and all the main attractions can be easily reached by foot. I strongly recommend this place.

The apartment is on the top floor (6th) of a modern building with a concierge. It is SO central - 50 metres from the Quattri Canti and with cafes and shops right next door. We love the two sunny balconies with rooftop views, the comfy bed and the modern kitchen. It was warm and stylish - great value for money.

I stayed at the b&b for one night last September with my fiancé and my sister. We had two connected double rooms with balcony and bathroom. The room were very clean , with air conditioner and mini bar and a very good shower !! The owner was very helpful as we were meant to stay in a different b&b which was adjacent to his ,but we had a problem with the booking so he gave us the room at the same rate of the other B&B including breakfast and parking. He saved our night !! The location it's just great , walking distance to the main attraction points of Palermo and it's very easy to reach. We will definitely go back next time we are in Palermo.
