The Hotel Columbia looks unpromising from the outside but looks are deceptive. Once you are past the cats and the building site entrance you find yourself in a bright, clean lobby with welcoming staff. Our room was small but adequate - however we die not spend much time in there. The shower cubicle could do with updating. Breakfast was filling... More

Palermo is a gritty, vibrant Southern Italian city, a little too much garbage and not enough lights, but very safe. So wandering down back lanes did not pose a problem. However, the temporary construction, renovation project for the new entrance to the hotel had me walk past the first time. Having said that the hotel experience was impeccable, lovely room,... More

Had a wonderful four nights at this hotel. The staff offered some of the best service I have ever experienced, regardless of star rating. Everyone working there, receptionists, breakfast staff, cleaning-staff and others were extremely helpful and forthcoming. The room was large and clean with comfortable beds. Great location with walking distance to all points of interest. Me, my wife... More

The location is best thing in this Hotel, short walk to everywhere. (at least where we went) The street is quite shady and the front of the hotel was under renovation so the doorway wasn't inviting at all. When you get to the actual door everything starts to look much better. The reception area and the small bar were quite... More

Myself and my husband stayed in the Hotel Columbia for 4 nights from 27th September 2012 and we were very impressed. The hotel is spotlessly clean and in an excellent location to the new town - the staff were really helpful and very friendly - particularly the night/evening staff ( sorry we didn't get their names). The hotel can be... More

I enjoyed my stay here and would be happy to return. I found the staff friendly and extremly helpful (- especially the staff member who worked in the afternoon/evening). Although the building was undergoing some maintenance, it still had an 'authentic' Sicilian feel and had a cute bar area in the foyer. The service was also professional and the breakfast... More

We stayed 4 nights and were very happy with this hotel. The location is great, just yards from the Quatro Canti, and very easy to find.
