The hotel is beautiful and extremely clean. The staff are all wonderful. The king size room was fantastic. We location is very convenient to walk to the main tourist attractions. We highly recommend this hotel and will return.
Outstanding hotel loved every aspect room was lovely very spacious and extremely comfortable. Lounge and bar areas were beautifully decorated and easy to relax in. It was in a good location for getting to places. Enjoyed an evening in the Terrace bar which was very chilled. The main aspect that makes a hotel great has to be it's staff and the hotel can be proud of that from front of house to the ladies who kept the room immaculate the very friendly bar staff in particular Antonio who made our stay very special we could not fault anything. Would definitely recommend a visit if you are planning a trip to Palermo.
A beautiful and classic hotel in the center of Palermo. In a historic building, this hotel is fantastic. Very good service. Comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Delicious breakfast, in a beautiful salon. There is no pool. A valet park is available for a fee.
This is a beautiful hotel better than the reviews with clean elegant rooms, lovely cocktails, delicious breakfast and excellent staff. Came here for my husbands suprise birthday and reception helped me arrange a very romantic memory which he absolutely loved and we will always remember, everyone is exceptionally helpful but especially I would like to send my gratitude and love to Marina who helped me make this stay extra special and put so much effort in for us to make many memories. Thank you to Grand Hotel Des Palmas team!!!
The hotel was located in The heart of the city. Accessible to everthing. The rooms are large and well appointed, with comfortable bedding, large bathroom and nice bath products. I suggest you Do NOT ask for a room in the front of the hotel, extremely loud, city noise until early hours of the morning. Hotel staff were extremely friend!y, my luggage did not arrive with me and the hotel took control and contacted the airport and tracked down my luggage Breakfast was your typical European breakfast large variety of beads and pastry. Highly recommended this property.
We were at the hotel for only one night, before departing to the airport to leave Sicily, but it was a wonderful hotel that we would have like to stay at longer. The hotel is in the city of Palermo, so we stopped our car in front to unload, and then dropped the car at the airport and took a cab back, in order to avoid dealing with car in the city. The hotel staff was extremely helpful, providing us with info for shopping, restaurants and also having a breakfast packed for us to take with us in the morning upon our departure by private car to the airport. Bed was very comfortable, and the recently renovated rooms and bathrooms were very nice. This hotel is very luxurious and first rate, and it is located a short walk from many of the desired places to visit in the city. Would definitely stay there again on return trip to Palermo.…
Disagree with some reviews. We booked a basic room but upgraded to a suite which had a huge terrace with furniture and a large well stocked bathroom and also an extra bath in the large lounge. The bed was comfortable and the room was well decorated. The staff in this hotel are exceptionally well trained. Everyone we encountered during our 3 day stay was polite and helpful and very respectful to the demands of their guests. We mention especially Marina and Bruno…..But the service was superb from every staff member. We found the breakfast adequate and only had room service. The hotel itself has an old world charm and history and is well located. We have stayed in more luxurious 5 star hotels around the world of course…..but the staff make or break a hotel.
I have a lot to say about this hotel. First, it’s a nice place and well located. Second, the breakfast is fine. Now come the issues. We had a suite. A modest bedroom, smallish but adequate bath, and a gigantic sitting room with a desk, sofa, and TV. The sofa was at a right angle to the TV so you couldn’t sit on the sofa and watch. The desk was opposite the TV, and there were no available plugs. I had to unplug the desk lamp to plug in the laptop. The problem was that the sofa was where the desk should have been and vice versa. Now there were plenty of plugs all over, but they were awkward to use. I ended up resting my charging paraphernalia on a chair against a wall. It worked well enough, but a five dollar power strip on the desk would have been better. The last of our three nights we ran out of Kleenex, and there was no spare roll of toilet paper as there was the previous night. There was one and only one luggage rack. There was a noticeable amount of noise from the street, and motorcycles were very noticeable at any time. There was no clock in the bedroom. Sure I have a phone, but you have to pick it up to find out the time. There were cheap bedside rugs that were in poor condition and were a slipping hazard. I don’t want to sound like too much of a fussbudget here, but once you get started, it’s hard to stop. Hotels with inadequate plugs get a one-star downgrade automatically. Most of the other items reported here (and there were a few more not mentioned) would not have changed the rating. But when we checked in, we asked for an additional pillow. Never arrived. It’s a small point, but hotels of this quality should have better service. This is why the rating is three stars.…
Wonderful oasis in the historic section of town. Large room with sitting area. Well appointed luxurious renovation . Shower had wonderful waterfall feature. Lovely bar with craft cocktails and good wine selection. Staff was very helpful from the check in to the bar service. Very nice roof top restaurant and terrace. Good gym.
This is a beautiful hotel with a wonderful staff. The rooms are large and quiet, with comfortable beds. The breakfast was wonderful and the terrace is a great place for a drink and food! Thank you to Felipe and Marzia for making our last evening fun!
