The hotel is located close to main streets and sights. Good choice for the people who wants to explore Palermo and don't stay much in hotel. Good Sicilian style breakfast. The room was directly from the 80s but for us it was just what we wanted because of cheap price and decent bed. We stayed there two nights.
We just stayed here 4 nights (superior triple room) & the ac worked great! It was individually controlled & got the room very cold to sleep. We were able to get some ice from the bar to bring to the room although note that the bar is NOT open yet (only water or ice). The breakfast is 7-9:45 & they DO lock the door at 9:45,, coffee there is in the machine so it seems possible that you could bring a cup up to your room. 2 things to know: only **1 key per room**so you can not leave your partner. Had I known this, I may have kept looking for another hotel. Also, there is no iron in the building. Great & safe location! Tons around! Coop grocery ~2 blocks & the AP shuttle bus ticket booth(stop is just 2 more blocks) Tip for early overseas arrivals: if you arrive very early before check in, there are 3 sofas in the back of the hotel, past the main lobby & bar, going right towards the breakfast room; when it closes at 9:45, they turn the lights off & there is no foot traffic. I could see waiting/falling asleep here lol after an overnight flight while waiting for “check in”…
The one star is for the location which is okay. The last of any further stars is for the lack of air conditioning for starters - the pathetic blower behind the curtain is not air conditioning! We were actually suffocating through the night because of the heat. The room itself was tired and not very hygienic and the beds were terrible. Finally the staff were neither use nor ornament in helping with anything. We kept having to pull information out of them as they seemed disinterested in providing us even with the most basic information upon arrival such as where breakfast is served and what time etc! Also - be warned, they only give you one key card. We asked for another one in the hope that we could keep the tiny blower on whilst we were out and they refused. We also kept having to ask fro basics like toiler papers and there wasn't any in the room.…
We had a positive experience at Hotel Mediterraneo, we stayed for one night although we would have been happy to stay for more. The staff at reception were friendly and welcoming. We booked a standard double room and our room was clean, nice, spacious and comfortable, it was perfect. The hotel had a luggage room to mind our bags before we checked in and after checking out. The location of the hotel is great, walking distance to the main streets of Palermo and lots of shops around too. The street outside is quiet. We found this hotel good value for money. We did not have breakfast or bring a car so cannot comment on this but overall we really enjoyed our stay here.
A regular 3-star hotel in central Palermo. Hard to find by car, as there are many one-way and pedestrian only streets around. But worth looking for, they have their own locked parking garage at the hotel. Forget about finding a scratched car and/or fine for wrong parking! Typical business style hotel, with nice clean rooms, refridgerator, safe, a desk and chair, TV, free WiFi, breakfast buffet, luggage room, english speaking reception etc.
Very very disappointed by this hotel. Reception Staff is not friendly at all. Not any kindness for guests. Rooms are shabby, small with smell of humidity. So called "Parking" is all but useful and over priced. Breakfast ends at 9:45 but you should know as nobody informed you ... You have much better in more agréable place so close.
Though rather utilitarian in appearance inside and out, the location of this hotel is excellent. It was about a 10 minute walk from The nearest airport bus stop. In less than five minute walk from the hotel you reach the Via Maqueda where you can enjoy the daily passagiata and choose from a wide variety of wonderful restaurants on the side alleys. The room itself was satisfactory for our needs and did offer a king bed which is sometimes hard to find in European hotels. The breakfast room was large and offered a good variety of items. I believe this is a good value option for central Palermo and would recommend it.
Long story short..the hotel is 3* fine, but we asked for 2 separate beds, got 1 big, changed the room - the room was bigger, but with teeny tiny little windows looking out to pipes and windows of other guests. Fancy a midnight chat? Well then go for it. I don't. Yes closing the window would help if the AC would work properly. During check in we didnt get info about wifi or breakfast if we wouldnt ask we wouldnt know... We paid extra 60€ for better room, it was better but we paid for 3 nights 240€ which is a price for 4* hotel if you know where to look. I travel a lot and I haven't been this dissapointed in a really long time. So definitely won't be coming back or recommending. Two positive things though - the breakfast was good and if I am not talking about the check in (I work in hospitality for a long time so I might be used to different service) the receptionists were helpful and ready to answer any question :) So for 1 night stay I guess it's fine, for longer no. If I'll travel to Palermo again, I will rather pay more for a better hotel...…
Except for the location there is nothing positive to say about the hotel. We booked in booking.com and what we saw as advertised was not what we got!. We thought we were booking a modern hotel room with all the necessary amenities expected of a hotel. Instead we were told we booked a studio apartment! There was nothing during booking to inform us that. The room in the apartment was old, unclean and dusty and there is not even the basic kettle which even a hotel room will provide. Shower and shampoo came in a tiny tiny pack!!! The switches and plugs did not work. There was no iron! We pointed these out and was told they will move us to a better room and we have to packed up once again. Why did they not check the room before we checked in! So we moved to the second room. The room was slightly better than the first but certainly not all that clean. Air condition was fine one day and next day did not work and all the staff could say was maintenance is only in the next morning. So we have to bear with the heat! Overall after 2 nights stay it wasn't at all up to expectations. …
Stayed there one night during our short trip to Sicily. Nicely located in a pretty quiet street in the old town's centre some 300 m from the Teatro Massimo. Nice air-conditioned rooms with comfortable beds.Good and clean bathrooms with hairdryer, Very tasty breakfast. The only issue we had - the hotel's parking was full and we had to park at a public parking some 200 m meters from the hotel, which appeared to be much cheaper than the one in the hotel - we paid just 8 Euros for one night (4 p.m - 8 a.m.) - against the hotel parking price of 15 Euro.
