Had the best time in Cortona...loved the B & B... the location fabulous , and the Casa Chilenne is the absolute nicest place...rooms beautiful tile, and very nice bathrooms...breakfast was excellent , a variety of items very good choices, also in a beautiful dining room...the location is also so convenient, right in the center of town near all the restaurant and sites.. The Grotto was our favorite restaurant...a short stroll away... we will always remember this trip as the Casa Chilenne was so nice !! Thank you, Jeanette !

Casa Chilenne is truly a most pleasant surprise at the top of the stairs. Hostess Jeannette is so accommodating, from the made-to-order breakfast with delicious Canadian coffee to her helpful suggestions to see Cortona. Her homemade cakes are to die for. We couldn't have had a more pleasant stay. The rooftop balcony was great for lunch with a local bottle of wine. Right in the centre of it all, it is so convenient and parking is very close. These are people who understand what is important to make a memorable vacation. The attention to detail was much appreciated. Our room was the top floor, the Nido, but it is quite accessible with chair lifts, especialy for the luggage, but it is so worth the climb.

Can you imagine a wonderful B&B right in the town centre where guests are cordially greeted from the public parking lot about 100 meters away, suitcases taken away and delivered right to their rooms?!! Might not be unusual for a 5-6 star hotel but for a B&B - especially in Europe? Wow!! Not only that but we were charmingly welcomed with freshly made (delicious) cakes and drinks on arrival too. We (my husband and 10 year old daughter) travelled with a single lady friend and both our rooms were wonderfully large, very very well lit with equally modern bathrooms. The sink was the largest and deepest I have ever seen in a long long time, the shower was powerful and my daughter LOVED the TV. There was even a channel in Thai!! We had cooked breakfast every morning but there was a

Response from chilenne, inn keeper at Casa Chilenne B&B
Responded 27 Sept 2009
We'll take this occasion to thank all our guests who have visited us in this first year of our endeavor. Opening our home to guests was a new venture for us and we are encouraged by the positive response we've received from our more than 700 guests thus far and especially grateful to those who have taken the time to write a review and/or suggest us as a nice place to stay to friends and family. We remember this family fondly and thank them for trusting us with their holiday plans. It was a pleasure meeting them and hope we'll have the opportunity to see them again. Just to avoid disappointment to future guests, we want to clarify that we don't have WiFi internet connection, but LAN cord connection is available in each of our guests' rooms. We are evaluating ways to offer WiFi in the future as we realize that our guests needs are evolving and so must we. Thank you for helping us grow!

You can't go wrong with Casa Chilenne. This charming, clean and updated B&B is a fantastic value, and Jeannette's hospitality and tips are priceless. The rooms are clean and blend charm with modern creature comforts like a flat screen TV and updated bathroom. Our stay in Cortona was truly a highlight of our trip to Italy, much in part to Jeannette. The breakfast and snacks were superb and rivaled what we found in restaurants elsewhere (which says a lot considering how fantastic the food is in Italy overall). Jeanette arranged a great personalized tour for us to see the local vineyards, sample olive oil in nearby villages and tour the local monastery. One of the highlights was a cooking class Jeanette arranged for us with a local chef in her kitchen (hopefully at this time she is

The Casa Chilenne was a perfect bed and breakfast in Cortona. This inn has a historical pedigree but has been freshly renovated over a year ago. The accommodations were clean, spacious and comfortable. Our bathroom came fully stocked and the air conditioning was working and quiet. Jeannette, the owner was extremely helpful in instructing us which train station to get off at and booked a taxi to pick us up at the station. Jeannette gave us a map of the city, suggested places to eat, however every meal anywhere in the city was perfect and tasty. Our breakfast was delicious, with eggs to order, fresh pastry, fresh fruit salad and a beverage. Nothing was overlooked at the inn. She even helped with suggestions in Florence with both restaurants and hotels. Jeannette also

My boyfriend and I stayed at Casa Chilenne for three nights in June. We absolutely loved Cortona and this was the perfect place to stay. Our room was lovely and large, with all the amenities of a hotel (we particularly appreciated the safe). Jeanette is a wonderful host and gave us great recommendations for restaurants, day trips, etc. This is the reason we stay at B&Bs rather than hotels! We would stay there again in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone going to Cortona.

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Casa Chilenne. Without a doubt, our time in Jeanette's lovely B&B was well spent. Jeanette has carefully created an oasis for travellers to return to at the end of the day, and we are sure to tell everyone we know that if they plan on visiting Cortona, they must stay at Casa Chilenne. Upon arrival, Jeanette was quick to offer cold drinks, sandwiches, or anything else we wanted in the form of refreshments. We were thrilled to be welcomed in such a fashion, late in the afternoon on a Sunday, as this can be an inconvenient time to arrive. The accomodations (we stayed in Il Nido, on the top floor) were spotlessly clean, and had every amenity (hair dryer, Italian soap, shampoo, and so on). Our room included an apartment

Casa Chilenne is an absolute gem of a bed and breakfast. It is owned by an American woman named Jeanette and her Italian husband Luciano (and their little poodle Carlotta!). I can only describe Jeanette as an extaordinarily gracious, generous and accomodating host. When we first arrived, she opened an excellent bottle of local white wine and offered us a selection of made made biscuits (all free of charge!) She then showed us to our room, which was beautifully finished, with a bathroom that would put most hotels to shame. Jeanette had left us a parcel of homemade biscuits as a welcoming gift. In terms of room facilities, there was Sky TV (with an English language option), air con, a safety deposit box (all included in the rate) and a very reasonably priced mini-bar. The B&B has

Jeanette Wong (a San Franciscan native, speaks Italian and English perfectly!!!) and her Italian husband are our hosts. Has 4 very steep floors. Rooms are so beautiful. Modern bathroom with things only an American would think of – toiletries, face cloths, tissues, hairdryer, satellite TV, information binder with card and pen, phone. Jeanette went over the city map and made many helpful suggestions. She brought our luggage to our rooms (no need to carry them up the stairs yourself), The floors are Tuscan rose tiles, the room has high ceilings, ac. The beds are comfy and pillows fluffy. The décor is tasteful, elegant Tuscan countryside. We were greeted by Carlotta, our host’s very cute toy poodle. Breakfast was very complete– 2 kinds of cereal, fresh fruit, pastries,

Ditto to every review previously written about Casa Chilenne. Isn't it great to know that you can put your faith in TripAdvisor reviews? Our stay at Casa Chilenne was sublime! From our exuberant welcome to our sad goodbye, no detail was overlooked. The rooms are immaculate and large with lots of extras (phone, sky TV, oversized shower, air conditioning, washcloths). The breakfasts . . . well, let's just say you won't need lunch. Meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, cereals, yogurt and homemade goodies overflow the buffet table. Owner Jeanette was a tour director in Italy for many years and so a stay at Casa Chilenne also comes with lots of expert advise and helpful planning. Another highlight at Casa Chilenne is the opportunity to participate in cooking lessons. Our
