We spent 4 nights here and felt like we were part of the family. Casale l' Antico Carro is family owned and operated. You can view the album of how the place was renovated and the hard work and pride during the lengthy process. The rooms are very spacious and bathroom is deluxe. Comfortable beds were a bonus. Make sure... More

While staying at a villa in Pergo, we traveled down one of the little back roads and stumbled upon this gem. We called a made a reservation for that same evening. The setting is charming, service was marvelous and the food delicious..there were 4 of us and we shared several starter dishes- the bread salad (one of our favorites) was... More

Did not stay here however we ate dinner there two evenings. We were very pleasantly greeted, English spoken and they have quite a varied menu. Appetizers, salads and entrees were all tastefully presented and delicious. House red and white wines were very good. Desserts easily shared.

We went for a meal in the restaurant twice, the weekend was better for atmosphere as through the week we were the only ones eating. The food was good but heavily meat based as usual. The village of Montalla has only the one restaurant.

We stayed here for 3 night in September 2014, as part of a weeks driving tour around Tuscany, and I have to say we were very pleased with the place and extremely impressed with the staff. The place was cute, clean, well maintained and fantastically welcoming. The staff were keen, attentive, professional and had a real 'can do' attitude from... More

My Fiancee and I stayed here for one night a few weeks ago and were both quite impressed with the location and room. The price was affordable and we felt very relaxed and welcome. The breakfast was typically Italian with yoghurt, apple cake, salami, cheese, but very good nonetheless. Overall a great 1 night stay in the heart of Tuscany.... More

We arrived here after a long day of travelling and we're shown to our room, Martinicca. it was a fantastic size with a great bathroom. We only had one night here as we were travelling again the following day, which was a real shame as it is situated on the outskirts of Cortona and would be perfect if you are... More

We stayed for one night at the new Casale L'Antico Carro (it opened sometime in 2012) whilst touring Umbria and Tuscany during Christmastime. We also pre-booked the Christmas Eve dinner, and Christmas Day lunch. This place is run by two very friendly and polite young gentlemen, and their very nice family, who always seem to have a smile on their... More

We stayed there over New Year's and enjoyed a fantastic meal. The people who run the place are very friendly, the rooms are large and clean, great Wi-Fi for those of us who can't disconnect 100%. Minutes away from lovely Cortona, and interesting surroundings to go for an aimless walk.

We enjoyed 3 nights at Casale L'Antico Carro, and it was a perfect place to tour both Cortona and Umbria towns. The rooms were large, clean, and comfortable. Food was FANTASTIC! Distance to Cortona was only a few miles away. All in all...was exactly what we had hoped for!
