Travellers' Choice
Conveniently located in front of the Pazzi Chapel in Santa Croce's square, La Maison du Sage enjoys the view of one of the most evocative glimpses of the facade and the sides of the magnificent basilica. The 1,000 square meters facilities are divided between the first and second floor of a Liberty Building, completely restored in 2016 and equipped with a modern glass elevator. The age of the building determined the choice of the property to give a sign of continuity between inside and outside electing the Art Déco the dominant style of its interior design. Each bedroom is equipped with air conditioning, minibar, flat-screen satellite TV, Nespresso coffee machine and water kettle for tea. The Mini Suites are also equipped with a sitting area that can accommodate a third guest, while the Suite, which measures 50 square meters, has a real living area with a convertible sofa. In the common areas there are two computers, books, magazines, Italian and foreign newspapers and the entire structure is covered by free WIFI. In one of the living room our guests can also take an afternoon break with tea and biscuits and every day is offered a small aperitif around 7.00pm.

Having stayed in various hotels of differing standards throughout the world I can honestly say this boutique B & B has everything you need and then a bit more. Fabulous location next to Santa Croce, so within easy walking distance of all major sites. Spotlessly clean with nooks and crannies and books all over the place to sit and relax. The bedrooms are beautifully appointed in 40's style and have first class linens. The bathroom had a new rainfall shower and all accessories you would expect in a five star hotel. Heated towel rails as well. Breakfast is certainly sufficient with gluten free items as well. La Maison has a lovely lounge with deep sofas and comfortable chairs where happy hour is held each evening. This was nearly over when we arrived and welcomed by Nicole, so we were asked what we would like to drink and a small tray with nuts, crisps and bruschetta were brought to our room. The second night we missed it also and came back to find two glasses of champagne in the fridge and a tray of small hors d'oeuvres waiting for us. A huge shout out to Christian who was the epitome of a good host and also a stickler for detail. He called before we arrived to make sure of our arrival time and that someone would be there to welcome us. The reception is manned until 8pm but arrangements are made for those arriving later. We were able to leave out luggage on our departure day until the evening. Thank you Christian! This would definitely be, without any hesitation, a place to return to for a stay in Florence.

I just can't find the write words to describe how beautiful and inspirational this place is. Being just there with the view of Santa Croce, listening to the bells every evening at 5.45, sitting by the window with cup of coffee watching the time passing by. Beautiful hotel in a beautiful place with beautiful people working there. That was my best hotel expierence in a long time. I could just stay there.

Great experience. Place full of Florence spirit. Christiano (I think it was his name - please forgive me if not) an expert of local places has recommended few to me, he was attentive and caring. Fresh breakfast served by the nice and always smiling lady. General Manager Aneta a really nice team leader. Art Deco Design makes you feel like the time stopped in 20’s. Great experience overall.

Room was clean and comfortable. Great location - near major attractions but quiet. Breakfast was very good, except the staff in the breakfast rooms could have been more welcoming. The staff at the reception desk were friendly and helpful.

This place exceeded our expectations. The rooms were stunning - the furnishings are beautiful, the staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast/happy hour were fantastic. We stayed in an accessible room which was beautiful and spacious. We LOVED it! The location was so central, right next to Santa Croce. It was extremely convenient. The one down side was the noise of a night. It was very nosiy - trucks, people shouting. However, this is not the fault of the hotel and is the price you pay for convenience I guess! The breakfast was plentiful and had lots of choice. One of the highlights of our stay was the daily happy hour. It is for two hours and features complimentary drinks and nibbles - very nice nibbles. We felt this was a lovely aspect of this hotel and added to the feeling of being a valued guest. We would definitely return and felt this was a highlight of our trip to Italy.
