Monte Oliveto is just outside the sightseeing city center and a respite from its commercial and tourist frenzy. My wife and I enjoyed the Sage room - comfy bed, excellent Wi-Fi - with its detached bath. Do plan to spend an afternoon in the garden...More
We arrived at Monte Olivato to be greeted by Marta. Once settled in our (lovely) room we sat in the beautiful garden as Marta showed us the best places to visit, shop and eat. The trattoria recommendations especially were excellent. All served delicious, authentic food...More

The walk from the train station is quite easy if you know where you are going. The small streets and alleys can be quite confusing at first, however with a little practice we found the route very easy and direct. I believe it is best to take the short taxi ride to get your bearings first and then attempt the walk.
Good luck and enjoy the beautiful city and especially the hospitality of your hostess.
