Cute, affordable, and convenient place to use as a base for visiting Florence. Easy 5 minute walk from the central train station (Santa Maria Novella), close to a supermarket, pretty churches, cafés, pasticcerie, and a 10 - 15 minute walk from the Uffizi and Accademia. Located in a quiet area away from the crazy tourist areas... a refuge :) Yes,...

We spent 3 nights in this great B&B. Silvia (B&B Manager) even confirmed via SMS the check-in time. Clean rooms and bathroom. Comfortable bed and quite during the night. The accommodation is located close to the train station, to the down town area and has good restaurants and bars nearby. You will have the keys to go in and out...

This was a good place to stay in Florence. It is close enough to the sites but far enough from being too touristy. Silvia provided us with great recommendations on where to eat and where to visit. I would recommend this place to anyone planning to make a trip to Florence.

We loved that this was such a great location- we were able to walk from the station, walk to good restaurants, and walk to the attractions that we wanted to see. Silvia was such a helpful host and accommodating and she gave us lots of information to ease our visit. By the end, we had wished that we had made...

For its location, the price is reasonable. It's a walk-up apartment so be ready to bring up and down your luggage on two flights of stairs. Anyway, Silvia is there to help you bring it up. She's always there at 9am ready to entertain guests. And if she's not there, you can contact her through chat apps like Whatsapp. Silvia...

We got the Orange room at BBH. Nicely decorated, a comfortable bed, very nice and quiet private atmosphere and Silvia's warm welcome and helpful advice made our stay in Florence memorable. Excellent location very close to the train station and car rentals, plenty of trattorias nearby. A warning note; first floor, no lift.

This is the perfect place to stay if you want to visit Florence but don't want to pay the prices all the hotels tend to charge. Only 5 minutes walk from the train station and within 10 minutes walk you are at the Duomo, 5 minutes to the river, no matter which way you go, it's a perfect location! Furthermore,...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
