we had booked a double room at Baronessa while being on holidays in Italy and we had received a confirmation from the hotel itself that everything was ok. only 5 minutes before we knock on the door of the hotel and 3 hours after the confirmation, we received a call from booking.com, telling us that Baronessa couldn't host us finally, due to overbooking! we went to the hotel and start ringing the bell. nobody was answering the bell! then we called them and after some discussions (they pretended not to speak good english) they agreed to come out and talk to us. the host was not helpful at all, asking for apologies, but offering no alternative solution. we learnt from booking.com that they had done the overbooking and delayed to inform them about it. another couple arrived while we were talking to them and apparently they were the ones that Baronessa wanted to host finally and not us. Baronessa didn't even offer us to stay to the reception until we find a solution, didn't give us the phone number or email to contact booking.com. Although they accepted responsibility finally, they didn't want to do anything to help us. it was 20.30 in Florence and we had nowhere to go or stay. On top of it, we had paid everything via internet! only booking.com helped us finally. we were very discussed by the way we were treated. i recommend nobody to go this place, because they don't deserve it!…
My story is: the accommodation Baronessa B&B Florence was booked through booking.com. It was prepaid. My flight was delayed on the day of arrival for 3 hours. Around nine o'clock called the hostess (because of the flight delays we were still driving) and said that the reception is open until 22.00, which means we will not be able to get after 22.00 inside B&B Florence! I asked her to wait an extra twenty minutes, explaining that the delay was not my fault (I also did not know about the inability to get inside after 22.00, I checked the conditions on the website booking.com says that the reception is open until 22.00, OK, but it is not said that after 22.00 you stay on the street) . Arriving at 22.20 at the place - we came across a closed door. After a long road in the night in an unfamiliar city, we were forced to look for accommodation. For these reasons, my review only concerns the relationship demonstrated to customers. Not for the qualities of rooms and furniture, as well as the availability of hygienic facilities I can't rate. But I can appreciate the attitude with which it is faced. I believe that this attitude is unacceptable and worthy of evaluation, and everyone will be able to decide how important this information is for him.…
We stayed in this place for one week. The host was very friendly and helpful. She gave us advices where to go in florence. Even went with us to the exhibition at palazzo Strozzi! Also she took us for a trip to Modena where we visited Ferrari museum and House of Pavarotti. It was great adventure thanks to the host of this place!
The room was booked for us by a friend... so we were coming with mix feelings not sure if it was the right place. But meeting the owner Mrs. Titi made all the difference ,she is an incredible friendly person and you feel on everything her personal touch. The rooms are very clean and and well equipped with private bathroom. The place is 1.2 Km from historical center , you can walk along the river or take the bus no. 14 round the corner. For sure I would recommend the place . Titi thanks for all!!! Christos
