Location was brilliant. Only a 6 minute walk from the station and close to town. Good value overall for the amount we paid. The room was spacious and clean. The shower in the room however, was really bad. The pressure was non existent, as was the hot water. Good luck washing your hair if it's long like mine. The staff were... More

Stayed at Albergo Paola for a week. Location, price and service are almost impossible to beat in Florence. James and especially George are the most helpful people you will ever met. The hotel is clean and facilities are superb, again, considering the price you pay. The three floors without a lift are compensated by the water cooler (if you are... More

ENGLISH If you come here expecting the bargain of your life you will be disappointed. It has the price of an hostel and it actually is an hostel even though it's called hotel. Shared bathrooms, no towels etc. If you look at it as an hostel it's actually quite good: it was very clean, not too hot (important in that... More

A previous review mentioned waking up to rashes due to mosquitoes - unfortunately for my husband and I, we found out that the rashes were not due to mosquitoes but due to bed bugs! After a restless night (I wonder why!) we woke up to find one bed bug on our sheets and another on the wall! Worst of all,... More

Clean and welcoming hostel. They can give you the best tips what to visit. Unfortunately there is never toilet paper in the toilets. You have to ask all the time. Otherwise really nice and big rooms. They also have a water f fountain which is really good if you forgot to buy water.

The hostel was one of the cheapest in the center of Florence. We still expected a little bit more from it. There is no elevator in the building and the hostel is in the third floor, if I remember correctly, so you have to be strong enough to carry your bags up many stairs. The staff is ok, quite friendly.... More

I stayed in a 5 person room. The room didn't have air conditioning, but the nights were cool enough that it wasn't necessary even in August (I'm from Southern Alabama so my definition of cool enough might be different than yours) . The wifi was fine, and the staff were OK. Their English was decent and the room was clean.... More

Great location. 2 blocks from termini . But no signage . So as soon as you turn to via faenza, mind the building numbers. Its a 5 storey building and there are like 6 mini hostels under the same roof. Paola is at the top most. Staff is very helpful and very pretty italian girl. Dont expect so much comfort... More

But definitely far from great. Hostels really only need two things to be good: a quiet, clean sleeping space and a clean bathroom. Hotel Paola had neither. Each morning, the bedroom (which had only a broken fan) smelled strongly of urine. The bathroom was disgusting at all times of day. The hotel staff, while friendly, do not provide even paper... I stayed here last week for one night as I went to florence for a shopping adventure . I chose the hotel due to it's convenience of being so close to the station . I booked the single room with shared bathroom which was fine . I had a sink in my room which I was happy about . It... More
