I spent two amazing nights at the St Regis in Florence in August, with my fiance. The location, in the Piazza di Ognisanti, is a short 5min walk from the Ponte Vecchio, and right on the river Arno - a perfect location in Florence. Everything in the hotel is what you would expect in terms of classical elegance - from... More

The St. Regis Florence is my favorite hotel in the world. I give it the highest possible rating. My husband and I felt like we were staying in our own private villa rather than a hotel. We were upgraded from an Arno river view room to the most beautiful "Botticelli" suite. Our suite was nothing short of magnificent. The exquisite... More

From the moment we arrived at the hotel and were greeted warmly by the doorman to the time we left (reluctantly), we were impressed by the professionalism and graciousness of the staff. A gem of a hotel in a lovely setting overlooking the river. From check-in to check-out, the service was first class and all the staff were professional, helpful, charming and courteous. Our room (106) and en-suite were huge and we did not experience a single decibel of noise or disturbance from within the hotel or from the surrounding streets. The... More

This is a very lovely hotel located right across the street from the Arno River. We think the location is ideal as it is situated at one end of the central tourist area. This means less noise and crowds yet still a few steps away from all the places you come to Florence to see. The AC is excellent and... More

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Staff is wonderful. Having said this, the property is showing signs of wear and maintenance needs to be addressed. Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
