Nice smal luxury hotel with a good location and service. One of the best breakfasts ever. Room was not too large but the roof terrace was spacious with great views. Stylish and elegant accomodation in one of the most beautiful cities of the world.

Hotel is good, very large room, lovely breakfast and dinners. Staff were always attentive and full of information when asked. An easy walk to town yet out of town so nice and quiet. Fantastic 5 min walk wheeling our suitcases to Santa Maria Novella train station. I prefer this side of town as its quieter. Not a cheap hotel so...

Location good and service levels excellent. Rooms are so very hot even with the heating turned off and with the window open too cold. It needs a modern air conditioner to make the room pleasant. The room feel a little tired as do the common areas so probably in need of a refurb. Breakfast very good and the service levels...

The Sina Villa Medici is located close to the Santa Maria Novella train station easy walking distance to all the historic sites in Florence even though it's not in the heart of the "tourist district." We choose this property for a one night stay as the room rate was much, much lower than many of the other high end properties...

This hotel was good, but there were some quirks which meant it didn't always feel 5*. Room was lovely, with comfortable bed and balcony overlooking the pool, and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately we found the service inconsistent - I didn't receive the chocolate and turndown service and what was in each room seemed to vary. Pool looks nice for...

This is not a five star hotel and certainly not a Leading Hotel of the World. It is a quaint hotel located within walking distance to the train station. I had a room on the top (5th) floor with a balcony with views over the city. The hotel has an old world charm that may not appeal to everyone. First...

My employer booked me into the Sina Villa Medici in Florence, and after a two-night stay, let's start with what wasn't good: Nothing! Now for the good stuff. The room was awesome. I had a large room on the 3rd floor with a balcony overlooking the quiet, quaint gardens and a bed that was very firm and comfortable. The room...

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights as part of tour and would have stayed another week! The hotel was beautiful and the staff could not have been nicer. Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
