Stayed at the maxim last week for 5 nights. 3 nights too long at this hotel. It is in a great location, the room was clean and breakfast was adequate but that's all the good news I have. The room was small and lit so poorly it was almost cave-like. It was noisy until after midnight and again from dawn....

This hotel was everything we needed and more, at half the price we have paid anywhere else on our Europe trip. Very comfortable beds, amazing breakfast, and friendly service. I was very impressed and would definitely stay here again and highly recommend. It just had a "good vibe".

We enjoyed our 2-night stay in this clean, comfortable hotel. It was easy walking distance from the train station, and centrally located to everything we wanted to see in Florence. The staff was friendly and helpful, with several great restaurant recommendations. Breakfast (included) was substantial. The room (a triple) was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was the largest we had...

The hotel is at a good price and rooms are old and outdated. I recommend it only for a day. I didn't spend much time at the hotel. The bed was hard but the room was clean. The location is the best. A few steps from the Dome. The staff is friendly.

We arrived midmorning at a door in the wall with shops on either side so were a little mystified as to where the hotel was and on opening the door were even more apprehensive and a little concerned at the chipped cement steps with an old stained carpet that led us up 3 flight of steps. The entrance does not...

We loved how close this hotel was to all the sites we wanted to visit, as well as great restaurants. In the evenings the noise might be louder than some like if it is a holiday or week-end night, but we decided the trade off was worth it for location and value per cost. Another good reason for the location...

The hotel is in a central location, close to the main attractions and high street. My room was clean, even though not very spacious. The staff is kind. Unfortunately the breakfast room opens at 7:30 and it was late once, so I had to rush and have breakfast outside the hotel, since I was going to work. However it can...

My friend and I stayed at Hotel Maxim for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The best feature was the location - it is walking distance to the Duomo and many other sights and a short cab ride from the train station. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was a great way to start our...

We picked this hotel due to its great location. Its a short walk to most of the sites. Our room faced the street but noise was not a problem. The front desk was very helpful with reservations and directions. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. Considering its location the price was very very reasonable.

We stayed here because of its location, it is a perfect location. We were no more than 5 minute walk to most of the sites. Our room window opened onto a courtyard therefore is was very quite. The front desk was very helpful with museum reservations. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. I would stay here again. Considering its location...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
