Enjoy your stay in Florence!
Our apartment was very well equipped for everything you would need for a few days in Florence. Very spacious and clean and a high standard of accommodation. Kitchen was well equipped (not that we cooked as ate out all the time) but great to have a good sized fridge and kettle etc. The lounge area was lovely and nice to open the windows to hear the street bustle below, but it was actually very quiet at night despite being so central. His and hers bathrooms were great to have but the shower in the jacuzzi bath that joined the two would prove an issue for anyone with mobility issues as you had to step over the high edges to get in/out. My only issue with this apartment was the air conditioning and it’s been mentioned on reviews here before. You simply could not get it colder than about 23/24 degrees and given the outside temp was about 40 degrees it just wasn’t cold enough. In fact it was quite uncomfortable sleeping. We googled the instructions for the wall controls etc and didn’t get anywhere. To be fair we also didn’t complain to the management, so our fault there, but still it should have worked better. But I’m still happy with our stay here and would highly recommend.…
The accommodation is in central Florence located on via Ricasoli. The location has three main advantages - it is close to all the major tourist sites (walking distance), close to restaurants and cafes and within 5 mins walk from two parking garages (both located on the same street). The accommodation we had was on the ground floor and consisted of one bedroom with a spa bath in the bedroom (unusual) and an ensuite bathroom (but with no bath or shower). There was a separate bathroom which had a shower. There was also a second bedroom/lounge which consisted of a sofa bed, and a kitchen/dining room. In addition, there was a courtyard. This is a serviced apartment. Front desk service was friendly and efficient and provided us with the help we needed. There were a couple of issues 1) the bidet in the ensuite had not been cleaned properly before our arrival - an oversight and 2) the air conditioning did not work well - even with the temperature set at 18C it did not down below 24C - made it really uncomfortable to sleep at night.…
Beautiful and vast property - very clean, modern and with fantastic equipments in a very central and busy location of Florence. Yet the apartments are very well insulated and quiet at night. Five star service from Ian, Daniele and Team who have made the extra mile before, during and after our stay - all super friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about Florence's art treasures, food and wine and parks. A big thank you for making our stay at Domux so special.
We were referred to this place and it was even better then we imagined, room was huge with two bathrooms and a loft. We enjoyed the vibe of the place and the location...just slightly away from the Duomo which allowed us to visit restaurants we would ordinarily not find. The service there was simple and very accommodating, we felt like we had our own little apartment in the city...what a treat!!
Our stay was perfect. From the moment we arrived, we had the best possible experience. Ian was welcoming and very helpful with local suggestions. The amenities in the (huge) room were excellent (the toiletries the same brand as a Four Seasons property I stayed in recently) with everything you could need in the kitchen. The housekeeping service is excellent, our room was spotless and having housekeeping visit after our second night was a nice benefit. The location is perfect, it's next door to the accademia and 3 minutes from the duomo! We found taxis expensive/awkward to get when we were in florence so the location is a real selling point, florence is also best seen on foot anyway! There are great restaurants a 5 minute walk and a supermarket on the same street. We enjoyed trattoria Zaza and osteria pepo. Overall would give this place 20/10 and would love to return. Grazie Mille!…
Best place we stayed during our trip! Ian and the staff were the best. The apartment was huge and all sorts of fancy! Perfect location. I wish I could give it more artists because it was a jaw dropper. Stay here!!!
Without doubt one of the favourite hotels I stayed during my time in Italy! Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed. The staff was extremely friendly. We had two great evenings here, which obviously also added up to the experience. It was a great big space with air conditioning and even a private space on the terrace - a beautiful place for coffee in the mornings. The atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me. All respect for the staff who does a great job here; a true sample of excellent hospitality!
My family and I recently spent 6 nights at the Domux Home – Ricasoli. Overall there were a couple of positives to the experience but also significant improvement areas both for the apartment as well as the management of the property. As a result I would not recommend you to stay at any of their properties. I will start my review with the positives. The location of the apartment was excellent. The apartment is located less than two blocks from the Duomo and allows you to walk to any part of the city within minutes. This was great having two kids as it gave us the opportunity to go back and freshen up if needed in the middle of the day. In addition the WIFI was very good. With all 4 of use using the network at the same time the speed was excellent. Unfortunately, those were all of the positives. The overall condition of the apartment although fairly new was not well maintained and not practical. I have included pictures of sockets that came out of the wall, half the light bulbs in the bathroom and bedroom were out and there were numerous stains on the ceiling from water leaks as well as mold. In addition the sofa bed in the second room was paper thin and the shower was barely usable for a child. That said the biggest issue we had was with the air conditioning and management. It turns out the air conditioning for the entire building broke down 4 days prior to our arrival. During this time the temperature in Italy was 100F (38F) each day. So you can imagine how warm the building was. The management did not inform us of this until we arrived. In addition they informed us that the air conditioning was expected to be fixed the following day. At this point we were left with no options to find another hotel. To help ease the situation they put us in a slightly larger apartment and gave us a couple of fans. That said the bedroom remained 95 degrees throughout that day a night. So you can imagine how pleasant it was to sleep. The next day they still were not able to fix the air conditioning until late that night and only partially. As a result we had another night where the temperature was 90 degrees throughout the apartment. As we discussed our frustration with the management they informed us they understood as they had to work in the building for 9 hours. I believe there is a significant difference between having to pay for a supposed air conditioned apartment while on vacation versus someone working in a building getting paid. The lack of customer service was appalling. Finally on Day 3 they fixed the air conditioning. That said the coolest we were able to get our bedroom was 78 degrees. To help compensate us for our inconvenience the management left a note and an 8 Euro bottle of table wine. For the price we paid having to spend 2+ days sleeping in miserable heat I think there service greatly missed the mark. As a result I would not recommend staying at the Domux Home or any of their properties.…
We stayed here for three nights. The property looks like brand new and the staff are extremely nice. Our apartment was spacious and clean and all four of us had enough space. The location is excellent and walking distance to everything in Florence. They even provide you with a smart phone than you can use. We highly recommend this place and would recommend this property to our friends and family. Special thanks to Ian and Giuseppe for all the info and assistance.
wow! we were blown away with this place, spectacular view of the dome and a luxury room right in the centre of the city. close to everything! best accommodation of our month in Europe by far! Only down side is no security or reception for advice after hours but internet makes up for that most of the time these days
