This place gets two stars because of the friendly and helpful staff. Also, I did like the peachy color of all the walls. I do have some issues with this place, firstly, it's incredibly difficult to find. The street numbers don't go in order, and the building that it's in is not clearly marked. Secondly, I don't like cigarettes. I...

hi, sorry, that we have not been happy. we respect his opinion, but we have to rectify the things she wrote. In the structure you can not smoke. And this prohibition is respected by customers. At breakfast there is always cheese and fresh fruit as many customers have reviewed. A place may or may not like, but you must write...

We arrived on 9/27 morning to Riccardos La Luna Guesthouse bed and breakfast. As soon as we opened the doors to his establishment, he hollered from the top of the stairs indicating he had no hot water in the room and he had booked us at another establishment down the road. He indicated this establishment, La Corte dei Principe, was...

Good morning, usually we apologize if there was some problem. In this case no. all the lies she told to leave us perplexed and speechless. 1 tell you before accusing, the tax for the historic homes like ours is 4.50 euro and then she paid the price as bed and breakfast 2.50 as had booked another hotel. we are not...

Lovely old building, classic Florence. Fantastic service from the people on the front desk, they couldn't do enough for us. They made us a coffee on arrival and gave us a cold drink while they finished the room as we checked in. Could not have been happier. The room was spectacular, simple and tasteful furnishing, lovely high ceilings, wooden shutters...

We stayed at La Corte dei Principi for one night, after the other hotel we'd booked notified us that they were experiencing some technical problems. We arrived quite late (around 9pm) really tired after our journey, we knew that the reception at the hotel is not working 24h, so when we were calling the phone number that was left for...

Reading the reviews, I was a bit concerned as I saw the hotel had responded a little rudely to a previous reviewer... However, we were pleasantly surprised by the friendly welcome we received. We walked to the hotel with our suitcases - a bit more of a walk than I expected and it was hot, but we found the hotel...

A very comfortable hotel with good location and service. It is only a 10 minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella railway station. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was great. Definitely a good choice for a short stay in Florence.

2 days spent here while visiting Florence. We felt safe, the room was clean, and the staff was friendly. It is close to the train station and within walking distance to many places we wanted to visit. The rooms had wifi and breakfast was good. They only accept cash which was the only negative experience we encountered. I would recommend...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
