Many wonderfully kind people — especially women — but too many negatives to rate any higher. A privately owned upscale hotel is at too many disadvantages today. The quality bar for frequent travelers is simply too high. Having just checked into the Grand Hyatt San Francisco, I realized I exhaled for the first time in days. Everything works here at the Grand Hyatt (including lights). Everyone is professional—neither uncomfortably obsequious nor aggressively bigoted against Americans, specifically American women traveling solo who have the means to afford a hotel (if only 4 star) like the Brunelleschi. My bizarre lights issue (all lights popped on at 3 in the morning and again at 7:15) was either addressed with an (acceptable) change of rooms, though up numerous stairs I wasn’t prepared to climb or with a cold, mean, hateful response from one of the concierges who doubted my veracity and told me if the light issue was real, it would have happened throughout the hotel. At no time, was there a serious attempt to FIX THE PROBLEM! And the complimentary meal at the pretentiously mediocre hotel restaurant, while appreciated, didn’t make up for crawling on my hands and knees every night and morning to unplug/plug in the lights — at 500 euros a night — nor the white hot hatred I felt coming from the concierge with a serious attitude problem. Special shout out to Antonella at reception and the head server at breakfast. These women are stars.

This hotel is wonderful. Location, amenities and staff. I spent 6 nights as a solo traveler in a Classic room. It was the perfect size for me and featured a nice bathroom, plenty of clothes storage and a large, comfortable bed. My rate included breakfast, which was a staff served buffet full of plenty of hot and cold items, along with a full coffee bar. The staff was friendly and accommodating, assisting me with getting my departure COVID test, along with providing packaging materials for my purchased wine. Thank you! The location can’t be beat, making walking anywhere in the city very easy. They provide sturdy umbrellas when it rains, as well. This is not the cheapest hotel in Florence, but the value in what you’re paying for can’t be beat. I am excited to return to Florence and with stay at Hotel Brunelleschi when I do. Grazie!

Dear JASIndy123, Thank you so much for sharing your experience at the Brunelleschi Hotel with us on Tripadvisor. We are delighted to read that you have liked the décor of your room and that you enjoyed the location of Brunelleschi Hotel, located in the heart of Florence, so closed to the most important museums and restaurants. We are really honored you appreciate the particular attention we pay to respect the hygienic norms anticovid, as well as for breakfast now reorganized according to the new recommendations, partly buffet-style for mono-portion products and partly à la carte with a dedicated service. Thank you very much as well for you kind words in regards to the Brunelleschi’s Team. It is our daily effort to exceed guest’s expectation and make you feel like home. We will share your words with all our Team. We do trust to welcome you again soon at the Brunelleschi Hotel, Your Home in Florence. Ambra Agostini General Manager Assistant

The Hotel Brunelleschi is in the heart of Florence and is located in a beautiful building which incorporates a pre medieval tower and is stunning inside and out. Rooms are all well appointed and the interiors are all stunning. Service from all the staff especially the Concierge is wonderful. The only problem we found was the buffet breakfast is not self service and you have to wait for someone to serve the food onto a plate for you. If this is legislated by the Italian government then i apologise, but if it is the Hotel's take on how to remain "Covid Safe" then you be better off issuing everyone with a disposable glove to put on their hand as they enter the buffet room. I have been to another hotel recently

A hidden gem in the historical heart of Florence. Close to all the main attractions and restaurants. The hotel is 4 stars but you feel like you are in a five star hotel due to the amazing service and staff. A big thank you to Sergio, he was super helpful even before we arrive and he took care of all our reservations during our stay! Special thanks to Antonella for her kindness and professionalism! I think the upgrade to the deluxe rooms are worth it as the room is way more spacious, with a walking closet and big bathroom. Thanks to the management team for being so kind and making me a surprise with prosseco bottle and cake on my birthday. Great breakfast, super kind staff! Just as a recommendation, I would advice management to rethink the corridor that connects the building in front of the gym, hotel feels quite charming and in my POV that corridor needs to be redecorated to be in line with the atmosphere of the hotel. Thank you
