Hotel is very well located between the train station and the Duomo. It's a mish-mash of room that resulted from the joining of two mansion whose floors were not all at the same levels, so you get things like the 4th floor being below the 3rd floor, and you may still have two flights of stairs to haul your luggage...

Very good location. Easy walk with luggage from the train station. All the major sites very close to the hotel. Restaurants of all standards nearby. Breakfast room and breakfast great. Rooms had double windows and shutters which meant there wasn't street noise. However, old carpet didn't seem clean. Bathroom, with bath, a good size. Reception service was very average. They...

This was our favorite hotel during our 2-week stay in Italy. It is ideally situated between the train station and the Duomo. The staff were overwhelmingly friendly and willing to help without the superior attitude we experienced elsewhere. They kindly made dinner reservations for us and suggested a lovely restaurant when our first choice wasn't available. The room was large...

A clean and comfortable room with noisy air conditioner. Breakfast and WiFi are options in room price. Breakfast varied, fresh and very good. Close to attractions. Friendly and informed staff who speak English, and sometimes French.

What a lovely 3 star hotel, perfect rooms, you could not be anywhere but Italy - a perfect Italian experience. Friendly staff and a superb restaurant opposite the hotel. Right in the centre, great location.

This is the place to stay if you are looking for character, and charm. The hotel is quirky, but this is part of the ambiance. You should take advantage of the wonderful breakfast in the stained glass and frescoed hall. You will feel transported, even if you are attending to little ones (like I was), when you enjoy your breakfast...

This hotel consists of two 17th century palazzos joined together. Ignore the negative reviews about room conditions - ours was great. This is not a place to stay if you want things to look modern and antispetic however. Breakfast is served in a frescoed hall (probably the dining room of one of the palazzos) and is quite good. Maid service...

What can i say. Hotel Paris is an amazing experience. The staff are absolutely fantastic. We were given a large room on request as we were staying in Florence for 2 weeks and had brought ample luggage. The building, hallways and public areas were to die for. The little terrace on the 1st floor is great to relax after walking...

We stayed at Paris Hotel for 4 days at the beginning of August. It was easy to get to from the train station, a 5-minute walk. Pulling luggage across the cobblestone was a challenge. The hotel is 2 buildings converted into one big hotel. There are hallways and rooms in every direction. It was confusing at first. The staircase was...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
