We stayed here for 4 nights with our daughter. Unbeatable location although I suspect it would be noisy in the Summer. Beautiful views from our room of the Arno and the ponte vecchio. Super comfortable bed and room. Maybe a little bit tired but cool decor. Delightful front desk staff who were very helpful particularly Alison who was outstanding. Breakfast in the next door hotel, because of the time of year, good but glad I’m staying in the Continentale! Relaxed and comfortable place to stay that is so central. Definitely would come again.
Your front desk staff are very friendly and quite professional...who are always smile and patient to handle customer's requests... No doubt they deserve a great praising. With this kind of great staff, I will be back to this hotel for sure when I travel to Florence next time.
We enjoyed 3 nights here in September 2022. Quiet rooms despite being in the heart of Florence; steps from Ponte Veccio. Housekeeping and all team members were friendly and welcoming. Beautiful, large rooms. Fun rooftop bar with great views of the city.
Overall an excellent experience!! The staff was very pleasant and helpful. They helped with restaurant reservations and tours. Rooms were super clean and very nice. Everything was perfect during our stay. Can't wait to go back!!!
As a family we have travelled to all four corners of the world, we have stayed in almost every style of accommodation you could think of. For city breaks we prefer a high quality hotel close to all the star sights. When booking to stay in the beautiful city of Firenze, we were highly recommended to stay in the Lungarno Collection of hotels. We chose the Continentale as it had a very famous roof terrace and also top notch spa. Location of the Continentale - right on the Ponte Vecchio - could you get any better ! From the moment we arrived in the car, we were greeted by extremely polite and friendly bell boys, our luggage was swiftly taken inside to a welcome by the amazing reception staff - who greeted us by name ! Wow - how often does that happen - never ! Our rooms were allocated and we were shown up to our beautifully finished rooms. The fun side of this hotel - there is an iPad attached to the inside of the lift with Photo Booth ready to take pictures of you should you so wish - a really nice way to actually meet your fellow guests. A really nice touch I’ve not seen before. During our stay, we were greeted every time we passed reception as if we had been friends for years, the receptionists Cristina, Alison, Silvia and Francesca were absolutely superb. I can’t highlight enough how professional, accommodating, service orientated the ladies were - nothing was too much to ask. Here is the next huge bonus, which shows they have thought about their guests convenience, they have a WhatsApp group set up between you and reception - where you can ask for anything from ice to be sent up to your room, tickets to the museums with priority passes all the way to wine tours in Tuscany. Breakfasts rotated between the very comfortable library room in the sister hotel next door, and their gorgeous outdoor covered tables for al fresco dining. A fantastic selection of continental options, service with a smile and the really nice gent who makes iced coffees better than your local artisanal coffee shop. Hot food can be ordered from a separate chargeable menu. So you think you are staying in just another hotel, nope. On hand was Alison who was a font of knowledge on the local sights, the history of the building, the architectural highlights locally, and cultural advice arming you for the very best stay in Firenze possible. The front desk bell boys Luka, Leonardo and Mattia acted as a go between with taxi firms, always looked after us with free water bottles (the heat was searing in that part of Italy during our stay), helped us with all manner of requests, and most importantly - had a sense of humour and engaged us as people - not just another customer. The rooms had the best a/c we have ever used. The dividers between the bathroom / toilet / shower / bedroom were beautifully crafted glass doors on sublime rollers that were a joy to use. Amazing rain shower and hand held shower, bidet and toilet (always a classy touch) with high quality Italian designer soap / shower gel / shampoo products and free shaving kit (on request) We booked into the restaurants in the other Lungarno hotels and they were extremely high quality (best service was by the Irish / Italian waitress who looked after us in the restaurant and bar on the other side of the river - deep knowledge of the wine pairings and a treat to talk to) To summarise, we couldn’t have be better looked after, we couldn’t have had a better stay in any other hotel in Tuscany (other members of our family stayed in other hotel chains / villa locations and had all manner of problems). We enjoyed every minute of our stay, and really really really didn’t want to leave ! Enjoy your stay. Wish everyone at the hotel all the best. We look forward to trying their newest location in Milan in the near future x…
The most beautiful hotel and staff- truly a special stay, from the breakfast to the staff, couldn’t have asked for more than what they offered- also in the heart of Florence which is just so beautiful. Special shout out to Alison who really went above and beyond for us !
A pleasant hotel with a great location. The staff was attentive and kind. The breakfast buffet, which is shared with its sister hotel, was overcrowded and understaffed. The rooftop bar was small and crowded and required a reservation. Overall it did not feel like a good value.
This hotel is amazing! We went to 3 different cities in Italy and this was my favorite hotel we stayed at our entire trip. Every employee was SO nice and gave us FANTASTIC recommendations for lunch and dinner. The rooftop was amazing and again filled with super kind employees and great drinks. It was a great perk having a rooftop at the hotel. We loved our room and our view! The location is perfect for all your Florence activities. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone and hope to be back soon!
This was our 3 visit and one that we had been waiting for since the start of Covid lockdowns. From the welcome as we arrived to the assistance as we left nothing was too much trouble. There have been a few changes since we last visited, breakfast is now in their sister hotel and there is no coffee/tea making facilities in the room. These were minor frustrations. The hotel is so wonderfully positioned for everything Florence and the spectacular views from the cozy roof top bar make the Continental our “go to” when visiting Florence.
We stayed at the Continentale, which fronts directly on the Ponte Vecchio, for 6 nights, and had an outstanding experience. Classic Modern Italian design, lovely large rooms, and excellent service. Please don't miss the Quiet Rooms, on the mezzanine, and the rooftop bar, which is small and always packed at the cocktail hour, but which, during the day,, provides an outdoor experience unmatched in Florence, with sweeping views up and down the river. There are always large crowds of people here, on the streets, headed to the Uffizi, the Pitti Palace, or the Opera of the Duomo, but the Continentale provides an oasis of classic Italian surroundings, friendly, smiling and quick service. We relaxed, enjoyed the sightseeing and shopping, and had several epic meals at places recommended by the staff. Will definitely return!…
