We enjoyed every minute in this elegant palace. The entrance with the painted ceiling, all sculpturen and paintings, all so overwhelming!! Situated right in the center of town, walking distance to museums and the cathedral. Very pleasant staff! Excellent breakfast. Beautiful garden. Everything was just great!

The hotel is an old palace so expect historic architecture. Our room was very lovely with a balcony which overlooked the lovely courtyard. We wanted to leave our balcony doors open but there were mosquitos which the hotel warns you about and even provides a plug in mosquito killer. The staff are helpful and the art throughout the hotel is...

Elegant hotel with garden in central courtyard, walking distance to Duomo and museums. Peaceful reading/sitting rooms located throughout hotel. Parking available for those who like to drive in Italy. Excellent breakfast, but one thing missing from breakfast was a self-serve coffee station for those who must have their morning coffee before interacting with breakfast staff. For some reason window screens...

We were impressed from the moment we walking in through the entry atrium. The ceiling is painted with multiple images, typical of so many building in Florence. The old portion of the hotel is rustic and decorated with many artifacts celebrating the Mona Lisa painting. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The outside garden was large and restful, an oasis...

We had a poor start to our stay as when we arrived we were advised that our room was not ready due to a late check out ( we were an hour later than the check in time). So we checked in our passport and then we were advised to wait in reception and the room would be ready in...

Not a luxurious hotel in my opinion and had a bit more expectation from a 4 star hotel. It has so much potential to be an amazing hotel and definitely needs a revamp! It's an old hotel, with lots of antique art throughout the hotel. The staff on the reception are friendly and helpful. When you check in, if you...

We spent a week in Florence in September and had a wonderful trip. The Hotel Monna Lisa was a big part of the success of our adventure. It's located right in the heart of everything, in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. We were in Room 9 in the old part of the hotel. It was spacious,...

I visited Florence with a friend for 4 days 3 nights on a wine tour. This hotel was an excellent place to stay, very interesting old building, set in a quiet location, but very convenient to walk into the centre, around 10 minutes. The staff were extremely helpful and always helped with a few niggles we had with the room,...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
