Detailed Reviews
Good hotel on a good location. 20 minutes walking to Firenze centre. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable.
Very kind staff which gave us very much information about Firenze. Breakfast was also good. They respected all the Covid 19 rules very good. The only negatives things were: On there website they said that when you book directly on their website you won’t have to pay the parking costs of 13 euro per day. So we booked on their website, but when we arrived we still had to pay the 13 euro per day. Very strange! I didn't get a clear answer from the staff about that.
The wifi connection was not stable, it failed sometimes. And everyday when we came back in the room, there were musquitos in the room, even when we didn’t had the window open.

My partner and I visited Florence and stayed 2 nights at this hotel.
We enjoyed it so much.
The hotel is stunning, entering and smelling good quality hotel.
The receptionists were nice and helpful. 5/5
Cleanliness 5/5
The room is beautifully decorated, large and bright. 5/5
Breakfast was good. There was not a large selection of food, but there was a very large selection of teas. 4/5
There is a small parking lot for the hotel. Leave the car keys at the reception and if necessary they move and park somewhere else in the parking lot.
The hotel is a bit far from the center, but after a walk of less than 5 minutes you reach a bus stop, where there is a bus every few minutes that takes right to the city center - about 15 minutes drive.
It is important to note that it is not possible to pay in cash on the bus. There are 2 options: pay on bus on credit only or buy travel tickets at the hotel reception.

From a 4-star hotel you don't expect luxury or particular "pampering" (bathrobe, slippers, fruit basket, 24-hour room service, entrance/living room with armchairs and table/desk, jacuzzi in the bathroom, etc etc.) but you do expect convenience, comfort, cleanliness and care.
The room (nr 208) is very small (how many m2?), the bathroom is very small (how many m2?).
There is no wardrobe, but only a rod with eight little men, there is no coat rack and/or hook to hang a jacket, a bag, a scarf, a backpack. There is only one chair (but the room is for two!), there is a small shelf/desk.
The position of the bathroom light switch is such that it can only be turned off after opening the door (which is located right in front of the bed): it is obvious that this is of considerable disturbance to those who are already sleeping.
Cleanliness is good.
The morning breakfast is consumed in a quiet room, comfortable tables with cloth tablecloths.
The buffet presents a wide variety of both sweet and savory products, however the two basic products (and perhaps most requested/appreciated by both Italians and foreigners) are missing: the cappuccino (what is served is not prepared with fresh milk, but rather with long-life milk) and brioches (there are croissants).
Courteous and professional staff.
Convenient parking.
However, too expensive for the service offered.

Really poor hotel. Overpriced and the facilities were sub-standard. Breakfast was included but was sub-travellodge. Italy has a reputation for good food but the eggs at the breakfast buffet had the consistency of a Wellington boot. Coffee was watery and the ‘clean’ glasses and plates were often plastered with the remnants of stale food. Breakfast was supposed to be served until 11 each morning, but the (usually indolent) staff would often begin to clear it away before 10:30. I walked in at 10:30 one morning and breakfast had already been cleared away. I’d never previously seen the staff move so quickly. The price of the hotel was out of all proportion to the service actually provided. Even the advertise ‘gym’ had about three machines that looked like antiques. There’s a swimming pool, but you have to pay €20 for a 90-minute swim. Needless to say I won’t be returning to this dump.

Dear Customer, in response to your review I would like to personally apologize if part of my staff was unable to accommodate your requests and be of complete support. I reconstructed what happened with the staff, the breakfast time is from h. 07:00 to h. 10:30, as in most 4 * hotels in Italy, we understand that you arrived at h. 10:25 am, so all her notes on Staff activities were related to reorganizing the breakfast room for the next day. Although we understand that we have not lived up to her expectations, we do not believe it is correct that the vote is 1, the experience in the Hotel is not relative to breakfast, where generally all our customers are more than satisfied, even because you describe what happened one day and you stayed 7 days. Please accept our sincere apologies for not having met your expectations, in the hope that in the future it will give us the opportunity to demonstrate the professionalism and accuracy of our services

I go straight to the point: booked a single room for 1 night, at my arrival in the evening i found the sink of the bathroom obstructed. I kindly asked at the reception to fix it while I was exiting for dinner, they replied they would haven sent someone immediatly. When i came back at midnight I found the sink still broken plus, when I opened the water, a lot of hair of other persons started to exit fron the dumping. The day after, coming back from breakfast, i found the plumber in my room that was fixing the problem, exactly in the moment of the day in which a guest need the bathroom to prepare himself for the day (and they knew i was having the check out that day!). Above all, the plumber left all the hairs that were blocking the sink in the bathroom, scattered in the sink, on the floor and in the toilette (he didnt even flush it and he knew I was in the room with him). I asked explanations at the reception, they just replied they are sorry and it can happen. Aside from this, I found the scarf of another person under my mattress, the balcony of the room was dirty and when I entered the room for the first time it was very hot and the air smelled bad. The level of the breakfast is very low, not so many staff and the quality of the food is the one of cheap supermarket (im italian, i can say). Most of the staff is very young and not experienced/trained enough for a 4 stars hotel and it seems there are not organized. While i was asking to fix the sink another guest ordered a beer, it took 15 minutes to bring it to him and it was funny that at the phone they asked to the guy who should have repaired my sink to go also in the kitchen to pick up the beer. Then the day after i saw this guy that was also cleaning the room. For the price they asked you can find far better places!

Fantastic hotel! Wish more hotels in Europe were equipped like Hotel Grifone. Stayed 3nights w hubby.
Hotel was clean, staff was very helpful, gave maps directions ect. Walking distance to a few spots, to get to the "center" and hit all the tourist attractions is a simple €1.50 20 min bus ride on the 14, and the hotel itself sells the bus tickets so no way to go wrong!
Room is on the smaller side but has everything you need including a kettle. The BEST was a large smart TV so u can sign in and stream all your favs (just don't forget to sign out).
The spa is available in private 2hr blocks, but is open 24/7 so not difficult to find a time. The hot tub/pool was not open yet (early in the season).
Breakfast was fine, typical European style.
Will definitely stay here again!

Located too far walking distance to the main square but the room was spacious, bright and comfortable. Breakfast was good. The hotel was spotless and very modern. They had a small pool associated with the spa for a fee of 20 euros with a 2 hour limit. Reservation for the pool was required as you also had use of their sauna and salt pool.

I stayed just one day in this hotel with local and international customers to attend a concert. Easy to reach from Florence South and close to the sports facilities area. The welcome was very friendly and helpful. The setting is small in size, but equally equipped with comfort. The single room has a delightful little balcony which allows you to have a little more space. Unfortunately the rooms are not sufficiently soundproofed and you "involuntarily witness" everything that happens in the corridor. The breakfast room is well furnished and offers a sweet/savoury buffet for all tastes. Paper napkins are a small flaw for a 4*S hotel. Excellent parking (by reservation). In the hotel there is also a small swimming pool, a spa upon reservation and a small gym.

The reason why I’m voting 3 stars is because I wasn’t able to take a decent shower due to the water being blocked and it starting to overflow to the ground after 5/6 minutes. You guys need to call a plumber as everything in the toilet is blocked. I went to the spa which I was really looking forward to, to then go into a “hot tub” that was freezing cold! The salt room was ice cold inside and the steam room wasn’t even steaming. That was disappointing. I did tell the receptionist about it and he said he’d call someone to come tomorrow morning to fix it. Considering my experience in the spa was horrible the decent thing staff could have given to me as gratitude is a free session. But I didn’t get any of that. Overall decent not a bad location considering there’s buses near by that takes you straight to city centre however PLEASE can the MANAGER call a plumber and fix those blocked showers.

What an absolute terrible hotel! Rooms look like you’ve been admitted to hospital, Terrible unhelpful staff and the reception who are some what disinterested in helping you! Noises, with people in and out shouting down the corridors after 11:30pm. The website states pool but does not mention it cost €20 for 2hrs! Would avoid at all cost!! My cousin is managers of very prestigious hotels in Mauritius from La Peroge to Coco beach and this doesn’t even service a 1 star
