As with other Novotel and affiliated hotels such Mercure, that I have stayed with in the past, I was expecting at the least, a pleasant stay. The stay at this hotel on 27 December 2022 was not up to my expectation. First of all the aircon, did not function. Understandably, it is winter so perhaps, it is the reason why it did not work. However, the room was warm inside so we ended up leaving the window open the whole night. Even if we put the aircon to heater mode, it did not work too. I called the reception and was told they could not do anything about it except to send up an electric fan. Another disappointment for me was the breakfast experience. The coffee machine didn't work and even spilled milk on the floor which took sometime before it could be addressed. At least 5 minutes passed before a staff fixed the machine and mopped the floor. The food also was not delicious, specifically the different bread choice all tasted similarly. Even the pain au chocolat (or was it croissant with choco bits?) did not taste well. I have experienced good breakfast in other Novotel and affiliate hotels, so I have a basis for comparison. I am an ALL member as well, so I have stayed with Accor hotels several times. In fairness to the hotel's management, they sent me a survey which I answered truthfully. They replied immediately apologizing for the experience we had and promised to improve the points I raised.

My goodness. The towels in the room - see for yourself if you like use worn out towels. I reported it and hope they change it. This is not the standard I expect from Novotel, supposedly a better hotel.

Booked this hotel for one night to be convenient for airport. Although it is not too far from the end of the runway the terminal is on the complete opposite side. No airport shuttle and taxi is 25 - 30 euros (same price as taxi from city centre). Lobby area is nice but room was very old and tired. Cigarette burns on carpet, bathroom old and worn looking, towels old and frayed. (Looks like a hotel room from 70’s). Hardly any power points for recharging. Fridge didn’t work. Room very hot when I arrived as aircon reverts to heating when leaving room. (Guess it was broken too ). Worst Accor I have stayed in. Only plus point was staff who were helpful and efficient.

If you like shabby hotel rooms from the 1990s this is the place for you. Don't be fooled by the up to date lobby; the rooms are a sad reminder of an era long past. Old stained carpet, musty smelling pillows and a completely insufficient number and placement of electrical power points. It's inconveniently located to both the tourist areas and the airport. For an airport hotel, there is no shuttle, and you'll be paying about 31 euros for your taxi to your flight, and 20-30 euros for each way to the primary tourist area. No convenient public transportation option stops nearby.

My family had the worst stay experience in our life with Novotel. The linens and towels were stinking and not old. There was no drinking water in the room. The staff was not helpful and had no way to accept a complaint about it. Multiple guests in the hotel were complaining and the staff had no helpful response. Would not suggest this hotel to anyone. PLEASE AVOID

We had to spend an extra 2 nights in Florence on short notice because of shortcomings at the Florence Airport and with Air Dolomiti. We got the last 2 rooms at the hotel the first night and had to extend to 2 nights before we could fly to MUC. The staff were very kind and helpful. We had a couple of good dinners there and very good breakfasts. Gabriele in the restaurant was amazingly helpful and entertaining. If you have to stay near the airport (10 minute drive) for any reason, this is the place to go.

Please take note: I addressed these matters with the front desk and they did nothing to rectify the matter. I addressed these matters via email and a review with the hotel manager, Mauro Fiore, and he has not replied. Traveling around the world for business and for pleasure is commonplace for our family. Notably, this summer we traveled throughout Europe with two children happily in tow. As global travelers, we have always taken the Marriott corporation as our go to for resting our heads at the end of the night and enjoying a delicious breakfast each morning before heading out to explore. With this being said, we recently stayed at your hotel, Novotel in Florence. We walked in with the same expectation that we have every time we walk into a larger hotel firm; professionalism of the staff, understanding after a long days travel, courtesy for our two children, and most importantly-efforts to make our stay as comfortable as possible. But our expectations were not met in the same manner as the Marriott but more importantly as we expect. • When we went to check-in our room was not ready. We were told by the man at the desk, the hotel was booked and our room would not be ready till 2:00. He did not take regard that we had been travelling and our two small children. He further elaborated that the restaurant at the hotel was closed but that we could try to ask them for something to eat. When we sat down, we were met by a very condescending employee that then proceeded to school us on Italy and their eating windows. Little did she know, we were now on week two in Italy and this education was unnecessary, uncalled for, and should not apply as we are at a hotel. When we explained that we were just looking for something simple for our children to each she offered; toast or left-over croissants from breakfast that has been sitting out on the counter. We politely declined. • Our room was horrible. The mattress felt as though we were laying on cement. The pillows needed to be replaced. The towels were old, ragged, and used. I called to the front desk and asked for new towels and none arrived. • My daughters went to use the pool. When one of our daughters climbed out using the ladder, she slipped and fell. The lifeguard observed this and rather then try to assist my daughter he scolded her, and yelled, “be careful, don’t do that again”. The surface surrounding the pool is all tile. As I am sure you are aware, when tile gets wet it is very slippering. Maybe instead of your staff reprimanding my children for falling, they should assist children in and out of the pool. Or a better solution would be to dry the area by the ladder to prevent these types of mishaps, but your staff did not do this. • The worst part of our trip was the breakfast. The restaurant was only serving buffet style. The restaurant was overcrowded and only being served by one server, Gabriel, who I may add was the only delightful staff member we encountered our entire stay. The breakfast was uneatable for instance, the eggs were overcooked, the bacon was burnt, and rubbery, other hot items were cold. When Gabriel came to check on us, I noted that the food was not good and showed him I was unable to cut my bacon with the knife. He agreed and stated he would have fresh bacon brought out within a few minutes; I save you the suspense-it never arrived. Furthermore, the sanitary condition in the breakfast area were deplorable. The hotel did nothing to safeguard the food from germs and the spread of Covid 19 from guests within the crowded restaurant. I went to the front desk to voice my family’s disgust. You staff stated they were “so sorry” yet did not create an alternative for my family. When I walked away, my daughter could hear the female staff member giggling at us.

total durty & unhygienic bath room; pool whole time closed, without pre-information on booking ( in view of the price, simply said: fraud; very loud party ( till abt 4 o'clock in the morning ) at the pool/patio ( which strengthened the noise pollution enormlous )without any reaction of the hotel staff used really often ( businesswise/privately ) All-Accor hotels, but have had never such terrible experiences last not, least - the girl at reception was very helpfull to organize trips to the city
