Classic, stunning home well appointed, very comfortable accommodations with history while modern amenities. Quiet neighborhood, approximately an 8-10 minute walk from the Duomo and centrum. Friendly service. Breakfast was at best average, and disappointing.

Excellent localization and an adorable staff. The hotel infrastructure and the breakfast are great. The room is so confortable, clean and well equipped. The level of the services exceeded the expectancy. The price performance is excellent.

The only drawback was the location. The staff, room, grounds are lovely and inspiring. The room was exquisitely appointed and the conservatory was very romantic. We would love to come back again. The breakfast was quite good, but pricey.

The venue is spectacular. The service attentive and the ambiance is second to none. I had difficulties getting connected to wifi. The concierge was very helpful and even tried to print my boarding passes for me.

During our recent stay at Hotel Montebello in Florence, Italy, in September 2016 we found our accommodations EXCELLENT. Our room was beautifully decorated and clean. The breakfast buffet offered everything the most discriminating taste could want. We especially loved the fresh squeezed orange juice machine....simply push a button and watch the orange drop in place, and quickly receive a fresh...

We visited Florence with a family member who made the reservations and were very happy they chose this hotel. Room very nice, plenty of room, wi-fi, etc. Breakfast were very satisfying and if you left hungry shame on you. All staff we dealt with were very accommodating. We were in reasonable walking distance to some places but used cabs for...

This hotel was truly beautiful, conveniently located, the staff were very accommodating. It is near several eating places. We really liked it. It is in a walkable area, near the river and in good proximity to the heart of Florence.

We spent three nights in Florence at this beautiful boutique hotel. The courtyard area and the setting generally is very elegant and relaxing, full of old world charm. We had two dinners in the restaurant, one of them in the courtyard. Whilst the menu was limited, the food we had was delicious and beautifully presented. This is like an peaceful...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
