Nestled in a serene location that's still close to major attractions, Plaza Hotel Lucchesi receives accolades for its grand atmosphere and immaculate cleanliness, particularly noted in its well-kept rooms with scenic river views. While the rooftop bar and pool stand out as highlights, some guests have called attention to the limited availability of amenities. The attentive and caring staff earns rave reviews for exceptional service, although the value proposition is sometimes questioned due to the hotel's high prices and additional unexpected charges.

We found the hotel to be comfortable but tired looking especially the carpets and general appearance which I think is in need of a full make over. The rooms were clean but do need an upgrade. We stayed in a room with a balcony overlooking the Arno river which was nice but not really worth the extra ÂŁ600 for the privilege of having the balcony. The shower is so small and is not that practical as the doors allow water to drip all over the floor when it is opened. The hairdryer switched off after a couple of minutes which was annoying. We ate on the roof top bar which was very good and reasonable but were astonished at the price to eat the same meal in the hotel bar as it was so much more expensive. Club sandwich, ham and cheese sandwich, Limoncello spritz and Coke Zero cost 81euro in the bar which was much more expensive.

The positives are the Rooftop bar and views over Florence and all the staff were very nice and helpful and a big thanks goes to the breakfast waitress who was always pleasant. 10/10 for service.

We were surprised to receive an invoice at check in that included 87 euros for a tip which we did not agree to pay as we always pay tops for personal service.

Overall we had a good time in Florence

Beautiful hotel and fabulous location overlooking the Arno River. Very elaborate breakfast included with the rates served until 10:30am. Very helpful staff. The hotel is looking a little outdated and old. Could really use an update. It was very warm in our room due to the unusually hotter weather in Nov.. the air conditioning was turned off for the year. The windows had a warning regarding mosquitoes when opened. Couldn’t help it and had to open a window to sleep and woke up to several mosquito bites. Yes, they warned me, but it was way too hot in the rooms

Where do I start? Firstly, the location is right along the Arno River. It is on a street that isn’t super busy so it is off the beaten path in a way but maybe a 5-10 min walk to all the restaurants and shops. Prepare for a lot of walking!!

This hotel is beautifully decorated with French undertones. Everything is clean, new, and just gives you a cozy feel. I wanted to hang out in the lobby most of the time because it was just so inviting. The staff is really friendly, also.

We originally got a classic room but decided to invest in the upgrade to the two story room with terrace and it did not disappoint!!!! The view is postcard-perfect. I also suggest investing in breakfast at the hotel because the buffet was really nice and offered a variety of choices.

Overall, I’d stay here again for a little less crowd and a little more comfort.

This is an old hotel with an update. The lobby and the lobby bar are beautiful and we were grateful for a very good traditional American-style breakfast buffet for days that we wanted to enjoy. Service by all staff was impeccable, very attentive. The public areas, the hallways and the stair cases are expansive and beautiful, and there are also two elevators which were also spacious, but then the rooms are very tight and small (but clean!). The original flooring and ornamental details are preserved. The bed was hard and very uncomfortable and the pillows were flat and almost the size of airplane pillows. I had to use the extra duvet to lay down for cushioning to be able to sleep. The views are right on the river in Florence and it is about 4 or 5 blocks to the Ponte Vecchio and about same distance to the main attractions in Rome. The valet service for parking a car was somewhat cumbersome because there are bike lanes to navigate and the parking was only by valet. So we had to be patient and wait for valet service when we needed access to our vehicle. Dinner options are about 3 blocks, so nothing in immediate proximity. The bathrooms are SMALL and do not offer wash cloths. Only full size towels and hand towels - but the bidet got a fresh tea towel very day. Also, there is no soap shelf inside the shower, but there is a table at the end of the shower that was quite complicated to use because tissue boxes were place on the top. Also, there is a bidet and a toilet, but the bidet is placed first and the toilet is tucked behind the sink which you have to navigate around. The location is great, but the beds being uncomfortable and the small sizes of room are something to consider.

Dear Guests, thank you for the time you took to review your experience at the Plaza Hotel Lucchesi. We are delighted to read that you found our service impeccable and that you enjoyed the American-style breakfast buffet. Thank you also for having mentioned the location and the beautiful views you had from your room. Regarding the parking service we are surprised to read that you didn't have a good experience; at check-in we help our Guests with their bags and we park the car for them. We apologize if for your check-in or for using the car you had to wait a little bit. In general our Guests really enjoy the valet service because they bring the car just in front of the Hotel, but for next time please do not hesitate to communicate us that you prefer to park the car by yourself. Regarding the bed we are sorry to read you found them uncomfortable, it is not what the majority of our Guests think. If you will come to visit us again please do not hesitate to ask us the topper that makes the bed softer. We hope to welcome you again, Kind Regards, Giancarlo Carniani General Manager To Florence Hotels

This hotel is very grand from the moment you step out of your taxi to the moment you are stepping back into your taxi or car. The staff is more than welcoming and eager to help you. We enjoyed a room with a view of the river, which also helped you to see the grand vistas that were available on that side of the hotel.

The rooftop bar and pool was very refreshing after a long day of walking around Florence. The view from the rooftop was extremely fascinating as you could see much of Florence there.

The room was exquisite. the shower more than adequate as I am a shower person and really enjoy a long, hot shower. The room had a refrigerator and a safe which was also Convenient.

The hotel is approximately 10 blocks from the city, but if you walk straight towards the two bridges, you will find yourself in the middle of great shopping,

The hotel was in a great location within walking distance from all the sights and in a quieter area away from the hustle and bustle. Very comfortable room with a view of the Arno river. Lovely rooftop area to sit and admire the views and American bar with a small pool. I had bed and breakfast and I very much enjoyed the wide variety of breakfast on offer. Staff were friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this hotel as this was my first solo trip I felt very safe and comfortable. When I arrived the hotel had left me a note wishing me a pleasant stay and a gift bag with biscotti biscuits, a book, and some wax candles. A very lovely welcome for my 4 night stay. Highly recommend.

We stayed for one night in this beautiful and comfortable structure a stone's throw from Santa Croce, mentioned by the Association of historical places of Italy with the patronage of Cultural Heritage. From the first impact you get an idea of both the historical and artistic context, just think of the enormous and spectacular Seguso chandelier that can be admired in the bar.
The spacious room offered as a welcome upgrade is equipped with every comfort including a laptop that can be used for various needs. From the terrace you can enjoy a beautiful view of the city and there is also an enjoyable swimming pool. Breakfast with quality products and good choice, welcoming and helpful hotel staff. May I suggest adding a topper to the mattress which did not seem comfortable. However, excellent structure.

The staff was quite unapologetic that when the temperature in our room rose to very uncomfortable levels, they blantenly refused to allow us to adjust our thermostat that management controls from a central location. They accommodated us with a cheap fan. Management later confessed that the air-conditioning system is turned off automatically at night. For three nights the humidity and temperatures reached unpleasant and uncomfortable levels so much that we were forced to sleep with our balcony door open to simply allow air flow in the room. I witnessed staff delivering fans to other guest rooms. I later developed upper respiratory problems from the warm moist air. This hotel wants to be a nice hotel. The staff was satisfactorily pleasant. But this old renovated building suffers from delivering modern comforts of new resorts. Be cautious. We visited 10/26-28 2023.

Dear Mike, First of all, thank you for your feedback. We regret any inconvenience caused by the temperature in your room but please understand that this was a period of unusual temperatures in Florence, as in many other places too. Our guests can adjust the settings of their room within a certain range by using an individual thermostat, however the central control system determines whether the rooms are provided with warm or cold air based on the season. Our staff does its best to address our guests' preferences by providing additional amenities like heaters or fans. Your insights are valuable and we take note to ensure we can always provide a more comfortable experience to our guests. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back! Best regards, Andrea B.

I cannot say how much we loved staying at this hotel. The food was exceptional, both the breakfast buffet selection and dinner in the hotel restaurant.
The staff, especially the breakfast staff, was a special part of our stay.
The location along the river and the view from the rooftop were also a very beautiful part of this visit.
