Everything exceeding expectations—incredible breakfast with fresh fruit, pastries made in-house, meats/cheeses, eggs/bacon, and a chocolate fountain to fondue whatever you dream up. The room was clean, quiet, and larger than any other place we stayed in Rome or Venice. They have a happy hour each day with free snacks that could be skipped if you eat dinner before 8 or is invaluable if you’re trying to eat after 9 with the Italians. The hotel has a modern flare with blue led lights in the shower and a cool spiral staircase that leads to a glass lookout on the roof. Location is ideal and in the middle of everything. Somehow, the room stayed quiet. We won’t even look for a different place when we’re back in Florence.

Stayed here for 2 nights and loved every minute. Lovely setting just by the Duomo, with outstanding staff. Rooms are very well equipped and comfortable, and the bed gave a fabulous night’s sleep. There are lots of little extras in the form of the amenity box in the bathroom, the biscuits and crackers with the tea/coffee making equipment and the complementary mini fridge (soft drinks) refilled daily is a lovely touch. The staff are excellent, can not do enough for you and there is a complementary glass of Prosecco on arrival and happy hour daily. Modern, immaculate, stylish and very welcoming, can not recommend highly enough if you are looking for a great hotel at a reasonable price in the heart of Florence.

This was my first visit to Florence and my first stay at the Hotel Spadai (July 2-7). The hotel is centrally located and just a short walk or taxi from the train station. From the moment you enter the lobby you are warmly greeted by the front desk staff. I had reserved a Junior Suite which was larger than a standard room and it was very nice, comfortable, and well maintained.

The nice touch of having access to the complimentary mini bar made me smile each night. You are in the center of town and can easily walk ANYPLACE you want to visit.

The bathroom was very large with one of the best rainfall showerheads I’ve ever had the pleasure of being under! The rest of the room was very nice but could have used a larger table or larger desk area given the large size of the room. The air conditioning worked well as I like to keep my room on the cooler side. The bed was a bit on the hard side for me but still wonderful.

I had breakfast included in the rate and it was served up on the top floor and was well run and you had a wide selection of items for breakfast and could order whatever you desire. The team up there kept all the guests smiling!

I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here on my next visit!

We are very happy with our choice of hotel during 3 days in Florence. The hotel gave us plenty of information to navigate the ZTL to arrive safely with our car. The staff are just wonderful - always so helpful, friendly and going out of their way to help.

The hotel looks very new. Super dreamy bed, large flat screen tv, marble bathroom, free minibar, great breakfast, nothing to complain at all.

We also felt very safe with their covid 19 protocols. The towels and beddings smell and feel very clean and fresh. Just a shame that they had to wrap everything in plastic which means a lot of single use plastic bags...

The location is its greatest asset as you can literally walk anywhere to all the major sights and the Duomo is 50 steps away. It cannot get more convenient than this!! However being in such a central location we found it quite noisy especially in early morning when the garbage trucks come around to pick up the trash. I got woken up early every day (use earplugs!).

Overall we’d highly recommend this hotel for a city break or if you like to be in the centre of everything. We found it very good value as well compared to other “luxury” hotels in the same area charging 3-4x for a similar room type.

Bravo Hotel Spadai!

We stayed here for three nights for the celebration of my wife's birthday. What a great choice of hotel it proved to be.

Firstly, the location could not be better. Right at the heart of things just a few metres from the cathedral and opposite from the Medici Palace. Everything is nearby.

The hotel was very tastefully appointed. The fittings and furnishings are of a very high quality, the beds supremely comfortable, the bathrooms wonderful...

...And the staff.

The staff were the happiest, friendliest, most helpful that I have come across in any hotel. The room cleaners would call a friendly greeting whenever they saw you, the staff at breakfast were all smiles (and very efficient), the lass who kept bar had a wonderful warm personality and a great smile and the maintenance guys were also extremely friendly and attentive. The reception staff went out of their way to help in any way they could at all times. Seriously, this team is world class.

It was the perfect place to stay and I wouldn't hesitate to fully recommend it to anyone.

What a location! Literally a stones throw (at the end of the street) from the main cathedral. There are many restaurants, bars and shops in immediate vicinity. From the airport we took a bus (signposted) and for €6 per person we were then at the main bus station in Florence (next to train station) and then it’s literally a 10 minute walk to the hotel, through the main streets. The hotel is absolutely spotless. It is very modern within and has everything you would need for a short break - a little oasis in the middle of the city the minute you walk through the doors. The staff are attentive and very friendly. We stayed in a deluxe room 405 (top floor). It had a view overlooking the Main Street which after a 1 minute walk you would end up at the cathedral. The bathroom was modern and huge with a double jacuzzi shower. There is a bit of street noise but wasn’t a problem. The only thing I would mention is that the breakfast area is immediately above and the scraping of chairs each morning may be a problem for some. As we wanted to get up and out to explore, it wasn’t an issue. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this hotel to any of my friends and family and would certainly stay here again:-)

Hotel Spadai was perfect for our stay in Florence. Literally a few steps from some of the most desired tourist sights in Florence, we could not have been happier. We were given an upgrade upon checking in and had a view of the Duomo from our room. Despite being in the middle of all of the action, the room was generally quiet. For lighter sleepers, there are ear plugs provided but we did not feel this was necessary (our room was inside not facing the street). Breakfast was lovely as were the staff who were friendly and willing to assist. A nice touch was the complimentary welcome glass of bubbles on the evening of your choice during your stay.

I will return to Hotel Spadai on my next trip to Florence!

We loved our stay at Hotel Spadai! Here are some details:

Location: The hotel is less than a 3 minute walk to the Duomo complex. You're right in the center of Historic Florence and nothing is more than a 15 minute walk from the hotel. The location just couldn't be better.

Room Quality: We were surprised at how nice the room was given we didn't book one of the nicest rooms/suites they have available. The room was fairly large, but very richly appointed. The bathroom was done with marble and the stand alone shower was luxurious with both a rainfall head and a wand. There was also a bidet in the bathroom which was very nice. The room also comes with a free minibar that is restocked every day!

Food: The restaurant has a free breakfast buffet that is very nice. Much better than the free buffets we see at larger hotel chains. Pastries, eggs, pancakes, premium coffee, so much to choose from. The restaurant also hosts Bacari each night. With the purchase of a drink, you can eat free appetizers/tapas at the bar (as much as you like). Its a great place to hang out and chat with other guests.

Staff: Above and Beyond! We arrived early and they checked our bags until our room was ready, when we arrived to check in, they had already taken our bags to the room for us. We also had a flight cancellation to deal with and the staff helped us reconfigure our travel plans to make sure we'd be able to make our newly booked flight home.

Common Areas: They are very tastefully decorated. I already mentioned Bacari, but the hotel even has a small "lookout" where you can get a view of the Duomo. We didn't use the spa facilities, but they looked very high end.

Value: This is what really earns this hotel the 5th star. Everything at the hotel met or exceeded our expectations except the price. It was relatively inexpensive to stay here, I would have expected to pay significantly more for the service we received - especially considering the free breakfast/Bacari/minibar. The value is phenomenal.

I don't know what is stopping this hotel from getting the fifth star! It absolutely has a 5 star personality and service. Approximately a 15 minute walk from the tram it was easy to find and the location was perfect for navigating the city. The hotel is beautiful, very modern yet aesthetically traditional. We were greeted cheerfully at the front desk with a voucher for a free drink at the bar and given our keys.
We had 3 adults in the room visiting Florence for the half marathon, and it was more than big enough. Plenty of storage space, massive bed and a pull out single bed that was very comfortable. The ceiling was wooden with a velux window and blind. The pressure in the shower was perfect. There was a really sweet turn down service where we would find a few chocolates by the bed. We would also find random notes around the room to let us know they had cleaned that corner or under the bed. It was spotless.
The breakfast is phenomenal. I have stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels and this was by far the most extensive spread I have ever seen. The staff were so cheerful and helpful, they could not so enough for you. They honestly seem to want you to have the best experience. Beside the breakfast room, there is an old spiral staircase. if you walk to the top of this they have installed a lookout point with signage to show you all the landmarks you can see from that point.
Honestly, if I could pick up this hotel and staff and move it, it would be flawless. The only issue was the noise. It is a stones throw from the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore and so you do get night time revellers passing by and the sound proofing is non existent. As I said, the ceiling is wooden and the windows are also wooden offering no noise exclusion. We did stay over a weekend which meant we were awake every night with the noise. The bells of the cathedral also start at 7am and can be clearly (and loudly) heard from the rooms. For example, I set a 7am alarm the morning of the race which was unnecessary as I could not hear the alarm over the noise of the bells.
I honestly would still recommend this hotel as the room does offer ear plugs and I should have availed of them. I do feel it is a very small price for the level of comfort, cleanliness and luxury the hotel offers.

Hotel Spadai is beautiful and has a unique style! It is right in the heart of Florence, a mere 2 minute walk from the Firenze Duomo. Our room was large, with high ceilings, a narrow (but beautiful) balcony, and a super spacious bathroom with a large jacuzzi. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful front desk staff, and received a complementary glass of Prosecco for each of us. The breakfast and all of the items in the rooms fridge were complementary. And the breakfast buffet is to die for! Every morning there was a delicious assortment of fruits, yogurts, cheeses, meats, breads, cereals, pastries etc. (the list truly goes on). Everything was so fresh and yummy! We made sure to go every morning. The staff were very attentive to detail in the rooms, even having little cards under the bed to indicate that it’s been cleaned. We got a great recommendation for dinner too. Overall this hotel is so conveniently located, we were always within a decent distance to the sights we wanted to see. And if we needed to get something quickly from the room or rest for a few minutes, it was very easy to get to. We had a great stay!
