Hotel has been completely renovated, except the top outdoor pool and patio, due to be finished in a few weeks. Bedding was new. Bathroom was updated with all new fixtures. I highly recommend this hotel. Arriving by train from Rome, the central train station is a few minutes walk to the hotel making it very convenient. Hotel is located next...

This hotel does not disappoint. Stayed here for the second time to Florence. This time a pleasure trip of four couples. Great location near train station, walking to all points of interest easy. Hotel breakfast wonderful and service fantastic. Also got excellent restaurant recommendations from the hotel staff, enjoyed our time in Florence and again at the Grand Hotel Minerva.

Wonderful rooms and wonderful staff. Rooms facing the Piazza all updated and very modern and chic; obviously with great views as well. Located right in the center of town, a short walk to the Duomo, the river or the train station and surrounded by excellent restaurants. Staff was more than accommodating and was up on everything going on around town....

First, this hotel is within a few minutes' walk of Florence's central train station (Santa Maria Novella), and is situated on a lovely open, garden-like piazza, which is unusual in Florence. Its rooms are modern, well-appointed, and well thought-out, with enough room to move around. While there is no desk per se, it has a console table that suffices to...

I was travelling on the spur of the moment and decided in favour of hotel accommodation instead of booking a lodging through Airbnb. I stayed in "Premium Room Florence View" on the fifth floor. This room has plenty of space for two people, walk in closet, safe, kettle, slippers, big bathroom with tropical shower. Only fault is that hotel's WiFi...

This is the perfect location - close to the train, close to the main sites (10 min. walk) and in a beautiful quiet piazza. The staff were fantastic: hands down the best customer service experience I have ever had a hotel - any issue or question they promptly answered and accommodated me. I didn't know my original room I booked...

Very Nice , clean , renovated hotel in a very good location in Florence . Close to all the hotspots. Only negative point , the swimming pool was not ready yet when we were there, but they mentioned me in advance on the website where I had a chat with them. The hotel deserves an extra star for the people...

Really enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and comfy and the staff very nice. Pretty good location: very close to the train station and a five minute walk to Il Duomo, and only a few minutes from there to other major sites and museums. The breakfast isn't included.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
