What a joke!! €16 to get into the place only to find 2 of the 4 exhibitions closed. Surely the tickets should have been priced pro rata or at least you should have been alerted at the kiosk. Once in it was fine- I thought there was a lot of glare in many paintings making them hard to see. The lighting needs to be tweaked to sort this out.
Absolutely loved my stay for 5 nights at this Hotel. This was my first stay at this property. The staff at the Hotel are welcoming and friendly. A special shout out to Lucia who helped me with my booking. The location of this hotel in my opinion is best in the city. You have the Ponte Vecchio right outside the front door and you are walking distance to virtually every attraction in the city. The roof top restaurant which has great views of the city and breakfast were excellent. Loved the room #502 I stayed in, bright, spacious, very comfortable beds. Will definitely be staying here again in December and on any future visits.
We enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay here in September 2022. We stayed in a junior suite with a wonderful balcony overlooking the streets of Florence. While it was noisy on the balcony, the room was very quiet and we slept great. The location is hard to beat for walking around and exploring all that Florence has to offer. Very conveniently located next to a grocery store as well and the breakfast was good.
We stayed at the Pitti Palace for three nights and had a great time. Its location by the Ponte Vecchio is excellent and its roof top restaurant gives fantastic views over the city. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were good, and late night drinks in the roof top bar were a great end to a day! We’d recommend it to anyone.
We stayed at this hotel in Sept 22. The staff were very good and the location is exceptional. However The Cons The rooftop terrace was closed through the day .This seems crazy as we wanted some chill time other than sitting in our bedroom. It is a selling feature for the hotel so why not utilise it.? Also on our floor 3 the carpet was so threadbare it gave a bad appearance to what is not a cheap hotel to stay at. Overall we had a nice stay but would not rush back
This is a nice hotel, very accommodating, air conditioning works well and room amenities are nice. Room is pretty spacious for European hotel. The breakfast is served on the rooftop and the views are absolutely amazing. We were in Europe for about 20 days and this was one of the best breakfasts that we had the whole time, really enjoyed it. The hotel is located just a few steps from the ponte vecchio bridge….this is great to be so close to everything except when you open the door and there are crowds of people right there at the hotel entrance. It also makes it kinda loud at night. Overall the hotel is great, just not our preferred location in terms of being so close to such a busy tourist attraction.
We are convinced; in Florence you cannot find a better location to stay. The rooms are well equipped and the welcoming and helpful ways of the staff makes you feel home. All the sights are in walking distance.
If you want to be in central Florence then this hotel is perfect, literally next door to the Ponte Vecchio. Reception staff were fantastic, however whilst the top floor restaurant offered fantastic views, the staff were not as friendly and almost a bit rude when we asked to sit in a specific place. Hence only the 4 stars, but more really a 4.5.
The Hotel Pitti Palace is possibly the best located of any hotel in Florence. There are some very expensive hotels north of the river but honestly they’re not worth it. Given it takes two minutes to cross the Ponte Vecchio from the south to the north side where most of the tourist attractions are, our suggestion is to stay on the south side. Also, it’s almost next to the Ponte Vecchio private car parking location so you only need to wheel your suitcases a short distance from the car park to the hotel. Alessandro at the front desk was brilliant. He couldn’t have done any more for us. Check-in was easy and his customer service skills are second to none. The building is clean and well-maintained. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and were well-cleaned each day with new towels. Our room had a small terrace overlooking the street below and the roof top restaurant has excellent views over the city. Some people on TripAdvisor mentioned they expected more for their money. Our suggestion is to shop around as our deal was very reasonable. Finally, a hint - the hotel is on a main road in a highly touristy area right next to the Ponte Vecchio - ask for a room as high up as possible to avoid the street noise that occurs all day and night. We were on floor five and it was fine.…
Very enjoyable stay. Helpful staff, comfortable room, good breakfast in a dining room overlooking the city. Location is amazing right at the end of the Ponte Vecchio. This was our third visit and we would choose it again despite a few downsides. Location is one - don’t drive to it as it is in the central traffic exclusion zone. We got fined! But you can avoid this by leaving your car outside the zone and taking a relatively short walk. Useful to know in advance. Also hotel corridors need new carpets and bathrooms a little refurbishment. Despite these inconveniences highly recommended for is vey helpful staff and great location (once you get there!)
