The entire staff both at the front desk and in the dining area were extremely welcoming, friendly, funny, helpful, and accommodating. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. Our rooms were tidy and cleaned up quickly when we requested for it (just hang the tag on the door knob).
The daily breakfast is a nice added touch from the place which further added to the convenience for us before we set out on our excursions. They also have tea time and cocktail drinks.
The location for us was perfect for taking the Tram directly to and from the airport and then to all the meeting points for the tours that we booked. Also the Santa Maria Novella Train Station was an easy 10-mins. walk. It was such a breeze for us to take the fast train to explore to other places like Roma, Bologna, Venezia. We cancelled our Milano train ride at the last minute because there was a train strike on the specific day we had scheduled for the ride and we didn't want to take a chance not being able to come back to Florence should the trains stopped operating. Many thanks to the whole Hotel Rapello team for giving us such a lovely experience being in Italy for the first time. We look forward to returning soon!!

All of the staff we met were so very helpful, friendly, polite and could not do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble.
The reception staff, the night receptionist who was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny too, breakfast staff and even the owner spoke to us and made us feel very welcome … nice! apologies for not remembering your individual names .
They recommended and booked restaurants for us as well as giving us helpful advise with local information . Our rooms were spotlessly clean and the facilities were of a very high standard, the hotel overall was just lovely for a city break. The bed was comfy and the shower hot and powerful what more could be asked for.
Breakfast was good , pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, cakes, cold meats, bread and a various hot options if you wanted it ..
Location is great, 15-20 minute maximum walk from the station (the trains are very easy to use and reasonably priced too) and everything in Florence is within easy walking distance .
The only one small slight downside was our rooms were on a busy and noisy road but with the window closed at night we didn’t find it an issue !
Well done Hotel Rapallo

Staff were very friendly, and we were made to feel welcome throughout our stay. We checked in during the evening and had Fuoco Matto (Italian restaurant) recommended to us for dinner, as it was only a few minutes’ walking distance away. We’d highly recommend trying this for yourself!
Our room was relatively small, especially considering the price (although I appreciate that hotels in Florence are not cheap in general). Despite this, it was finished to a good standard with modern decor and most amenities you would expect to find.
One disappointment was that, upon booking, I had included a note to specify that we were staying with Hotel Rapallo (and visiting Florence) for my partner’s birthday. However, there was no acknowledgement of this whatsoever - either in advance of our arrival or during our stay. As such, the day before her birthday I sent an email enquiring about the possibility of a small gesture/card to be left in our room as a surprise, along with querying the cost. I was told that they could arrange a flower bouquet and card for €60, which seemed very expensive. As my partner does not particularly like flowers, I asked whether they could instead provide a slice of cake/candle or similar (as well as the price of this). Unfortunately, this email was completely ignored.
The breakfast was high quality with plenty of options. It needs to be booked the day before (there are half hour slots to choose from), as it can become very busy and when this was the case during our stay, the staff did a good job of handling the rush with some very demanding guests at times. The complimentary coffee and cake in mid-afternoon/early evening was greatly appreciated!

2nd stay for us in this hotel with the same always charming welcome by the manager, speaking perfectly French: Lorenzo. A real plus. It is always available for all information, give you the map of Florence the must visits, all with a smile...
The style, the furnishings are quite in the current shades. Sober, clean class.
The rooms, we were able in April to have 1 with terrace with a view of the Florentine roofs and in November 1 other with authentic balcony very nice even in the morning in November.
Cleanliness, impeccable bedding. Pillows too.
Very well equipped rooms.
Very nice staff.
Ideally located, small restaurants around for the evening.
Hearty breakfast buffet and varies.
I highly recommend it.
Quiet and we feel very comfortable very quickly entering.
