Returned to Porta Rossa again. Stayed in the tower that we discovered in 2001. We love it. Do know if you stay in the tower be ready for lots of steps. The view is wonderful and one of a kind in Florence. The staff are excellent and so very helpful. We will certainly stay in the tower once again when we return.

Great location. Most of the Florence attractions can be reached by a 10 min walk. Hotels with great location sometimes have a tendency to not focus on the customer enough. Not here... the hotel staff was great, rooms were good and service staff effective and invisible. The rooms might be a bit small, this is why I booked a junior suite. The prize difference was reasonable and the junior suite is a comfortable size room. The breakfast is a bit expensive but I am not having breakfast anyways. Find your favorite cafe in Florence and you dont need breakfast at the hotel. I would definitely choose the hotel again.

Good location, helpful and friendly staff. Ours was a large room with a nice modern bathroom. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a very good wait staff. Jus a block or two from the river an "the bridge' and walking distance to many of the sights one wants to visit. Train station also an easy walk.

Very charming hotel in a building with a story. Every room I stayed in (I’ve stayed at this property several times) was spacious, well-appointed and very comfortable. What really made the difference for me was the staff and the consistent level of service they provided during my 2-week stay in January 2023. They treated me with a level of hospitability that I can only describe as exceptional – whether it was the concierge, the doorman or the reception staff. Additionally, the hotel is well located and provides easy access to most of the things one would want to do/see in Florence. The hotel does not have a full-service restaurant (I'm not sure whether this was seasonal - my visit was during the low season), but they did serve breakfast (which I found quite good with many options to choose from and well worth the extra cost) including a handful of made-to-order options. Considering the countless dining choices within walking distance to the hotel, not having a restaurant on site for lunch and dinner was not a problem. The hotel staff was very knowledgeable about the various dining options in Florence, and the concierge's recommendations during my stay were spot on and exceeded my expectations. There is also a lovely bar at the hotel which is open in the evening and serves bar snacks with the drinks in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. 5 stars all around for this little gem of a hotel!…

Location is good, and service is beyond excellent. Room is nice with combination of historical architecture and modern stuffs. When booked, add breakfast on it, worth the bucks. Lotsa walking required though for this city.

We had a good stay. We had two connected rooms, one with a large space and the other not so much! The larger room lacks some decoration, to say the least. The staff is some ways friendly, could be more so. The garage is really close to the hotel, but it is hard to reach (because it is in a ZTL zone) and it is very very expensive.

NH Porta Rosa maybe the oldest hotel in Italy and maybe, the best hotel in Italy. We were thoroughly amazed by the warm and friendly staff of the hotel. Our suite was lovely and the housekeeping services were exceptional. From the Doorman, to the Concierge, to the wait staff, to the Frontdesk staff, everyone proved why Porta Rosa deserves its 5 star rating. Each day we anticipated our breakfast buffet and we had such a variety of traditional foods and drinks to choose from, and even omlettes to order. Our concierge, Mariesilva, was exceptional and helped us develop the visit of a lifetime, by recommending places to tour and unique restaurants to dine in. Everyone was was so helpful with any questions that we had, and provided plenty of assistance if we got lost. As soon as you crossed the threshold into the hotel, the air was filled with a sweet romantic atmosphere, which set the mood. We thoroughly enjoyed each day at the Porta Rosa...when we return to Florence, we will make it a point to stay at the Porta Rosa again.. Thanks for the memories... Donza and Mike Hill…

Horrible hotel! The minute I walked in there there was a huge diffuser that stunk and I felt like I was having an allergy attack. When I went up to my room it was so dark in in the room with all the lights on! I cannot believe I was in this hotel. The heat was on at 90°, you couldn’t see in the bathroom let alone see in your own bedroom that’s how dark and dingy it was. Then I complained they sent me a lamp which really did nothing and they lowered the temperature in the room and apologized. This was the first room in this hotel, there was a weird smell but the diffusers making me sneeze and cough and I couldn’t figure out why they had so many around the room. The next day I complained that I want my room changed. They said why this is the best room in the hotel… Are you kidding me? They finally changed my room and my husband and I walked in the new room and smelled a Bad odor. But at this point we were so exhausted that we just slept in the hotel with the windows wide-open. The next morning I woke up and I was getting dressed and I started gagging I didn’t know what was wrong, I ran out of the room and saw one of the maids who didn’t speak any English looking at me. I pointed my hands on my nose I said what is wrong here it smells terrible in this room? She came in the room and ran out of the room then typed on her iPhone and translated the words to me……….(SEPTIC SEWER) . I couldn’t believe it! I couldn’t go back to that room to pack! I wanted out of that hotel. After a whole day of trying to get another hotel and getting out of there I refuse to even go and pack my bags because I was so nauseous. My husband went up opened up all the windows held his breath and just threw us stuff in bags and got the hell out of there. I will never go to that hotel again. The people at the hotel that work there we’re trying to be nice but we’re rude and they won’t even look us in the face as we were sitting in the lobby waiting to get a transfer to the new hotel what a nightmare ! Also we got wash done and all the clothes came back stained and not clean!…

Our Hotel has 70 rooms in total and to be a boutique hotel all are totally differ between them. You have complained for the light and we help you to solve It as soon as you told Us. The day after when you have complained again because you didn't like the room we move to a new one even if our Hotel was fully booked. My mom and I stayed here through a Costco package, so I can’t speak to it’s cost/value for those walking in off the street, but we loved our stay here. Incredible staff, a breakfast bar worthy of a TikTok tour by several guests, and a huge room with windows that made me feel like Juliet looking out them. Clean, comfortable, embarrassingly hospitable, we would stay again in a heartbeat!
