Ricardo was nice and did his darnedest to find me a restaurant on New Year's Day. The local Accademia next to Piazza San Marco was a major hit. Tiny room without view but high ceilings and big nice bath was still fun. I was happy there for one night. Amazing breakfast in gorgeous stately room overlooking roof garden. Retrieving luggage...

We could enjoy staying. It's located near the center of city. We walked around there to see some sightseeing spots and museums. Breakfast also was good, especially coffe, cocoa. Paintings and garden were beautiful too.

We stayed with our two children. The location was good for walking around the city, and was close to the railway station. The room was tidy and huge. We visited 3 cities in this trip, and this was the best hotel actually.

Great hotel! Service was very nice and the location was perfect for walking to the different key locations in town. Plenty of good small local restaurants close the hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Best part of the room was the bathroom, with huge bathtub and a separate shower. Highly recommend this place!

This hotel was a rather nice combo: nice location (to get to the main tourist points, such as the Duomo and Vecchio, you just have to go straight ahead); also, the room was a good plus: hot and cozy, with a bathroom full of space and quite clean. Reception was also nice, always helpful. Breakfast was nice. To top it...

The hotel is really nice, well restaurated, well maintained. We have answers to all our questions and needs. The staff is friendly and polite. Rooms on the upper floors are huge, sometimes with proper terraces. The inner court terrace is perfect for relax, with a nice atmosphere. The hotel is in the heart of Florence, you have all important monuments...

This hotel was perfect in every way. The room was beautiful and kept perfectly clean, the breakfast provided was lovely, the wifi worked without any problems, and, above all, the staff was incredibly kind, knowledgable, and willing to help in any way. I recommend this hotel highly.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
